I was listening to the national high school football broadcast last night on the radio and they were talking about this kid. Santa Margarita was ranked #1 in the nation by MaxPreps...

The Eagles beat some school in Arizona, but apparently they looked a little sluggish. They did rave and rave about Stanton, however. He's the real deal...

You can't always trust preseason rankings, as we all know. Servite was ranked #3 in SoCal and they got hammered on opening night by Bishop Amat. Another thing that will seriously mess up our analysis this year is the new recruiting rules. A high school kid here in California can now transfer to another school and he only has to sit out four weeks. This means a kid could legally play for three different high schools in the same season if the last team makes the playoffs. It also means that multi-sport stars could play football at one school; then basketball at a second school; then transfer to a third school for baseball. The recruiters have won and the educators have waved the white flag. It's a jungle around here...

BTW- every college team in the nation will be coming after Stanton. He's that good.
