Sure upset the football weekend. Among others the Gators lost a game we needed to get some confidence after the Michigan fiasco.

Have a lot of family and friends in Florida, all seem to be fine.

Ironic, but we lost our power her in NC longer than our two daughters houses in Kissimmee and Jacksonville. Our power feed before and after us in some very tree heavy forest area. Trees took out some lines and it takes sometime to patrol all the lines to ensure no other lines are down. Set up our small camping generator for about 6-8 hours but our power came back this afternoon.

Then I moved the generator to my brother and sister in laws. Hopefully their power will be back tomorrow.

Good news Bill. Living without electricity can be a bummer, even with your own generator. Glad to hear things are back to normal.

Thanks Don, our generator ran the refrigerator and a couple of lights. The important thing being the refrain.

One of the cancellations this week is the Ga. Tech. at UCF game in Orlando. The reason for the cancellation is that the Bulls stadium is being used as a staging point for the National Guard.

Thankfully, Hutto is far enough inland to rarely suffer the affects of a hurricane in the gulf. The main concern is a tornado that spawns off of the storm but I'll take a tornado over the wide spread high winds of a hurricane any day. Like, shoot me with a pistol not a shotgun. You might miss with the pistol, hard to miss with a shotgun.

My heart goes out to those that must suffer through these natural disasters.

For the times that we have power outages, I have two devices: Propane powered 5500 Watt portable generator and a Dewalt inverter that uses four 60 volt batteries to provide 120 VAC. It will power four lamps with 60 watt bulbs (9 watt draw since they are LED) for a little over 16 hours of usage. The generator is for the two refrigerator/freezers and two separate freezers. Had to use this combo once but it was not storm related.

The Dewalt inverter is fairly expensive but I use it to power fans and a small bluetooth sound system at car shows.
