DeRosa, Holliday and yes jiffy, even Lugo have made the Cards a completely different offensive team. All 3 of these guys have made instant positive impact into the lineup and seem to be very comfortable (who wouldn't in a BB freindly town like St. Louie?) in their new surroundings. Tip of the hat to the Cards front office for getting patches for the struggling offense this year, now if we can get 1 more starter for the mound before Saturday. That might have WS written all over it.

Cards torched the Dodgers again tonight 10-0. Poor Manny even got booed hard here...Cubbies gave up 1st place to the rightful owners again tonight...herad that Oswalt hurt himself tonight, I like that guy so I hope it's short lived. L.A. hasn't lost 3 games in a row this year (only team in MLB)...Cards try to hand them that on Wens night...Houston in town after that...CARDINAL NATION IS LOOKING PRETTY GOOD...

Great moves by the Cards no doubt. I wish the Astros had the prospects the BlueJays want for Halliday, but I guess we stand pat.

Terry and I talked about this in KC relating to the Cubs. I was ambivalent toward the Milton Bradley signing (not a trade, I know), but it's done nothing for the club, and a couple of typical MB episodes have not helped the clubhouse atmosphere. I was sorry they let DeRosa go. Who'd a thunk that he'd end up battling against the Cubs for the NLC lead?

No question the Cards have made smart and helpful moves. Plus, their pitching is doing better than I thought it would. Carpenter looks like his old self the past few starts.

The Cubs' bats are on their way back, but their relief pitching continues to be problemmatic......the two ex-ND guys, Heileman and Samardzjia, got shelled last night.

Nevertheless, it's going to be a battle to the wire between the Cubs and the Cards. If Oswalt goes on the shelf, the Astros are in big trouble, and it looks like the Brew Crew is fading.

I see the Indians sent Cliff Lee to the Phils for a bunch of minor leaguers. I assume this means the Tribe is looking to the future not the present.

Back in 2004 you guys had your foot on the throat of the Red Sox and let them off the hook. That was a damn good team, which figured to be good for awhile.

I guess your ownership doesn't have the resources to pay talent like C.C. and Lee. It has to be discouraging.

Well yesterdays Cub/Astro game had consequences. Both Starting pitchers were dumped right after the game. Hart was traded to the Pirates (exiled) and Ortiz was released.

Has to be tough to be a Pirates fan, the entire starting lineup from opening day is gone. The GM said they are going to rebuild the farm system and go from there....which means about 5-10 more years before they will be back. Ugh.
