Good for him. Personally I'm not sure of the rush to graduate early from HS and graduate early from college. Those are some of the best times of your life....then you have to go to work for a living. But clearly he's ready academically if he was admitted to Harvard.
The other part of the story Terry is that he did three years at a prep school in Canada then a year at Procter where he did his Junior year over then took a course this summer to graduate. So I think he is the same age as most of the other entries. But I agree with you about not going to early. Heck I went to UF when I was 18 and graduated at a normal time. I was still several years away from being ready for college. But I did have a great time for about three years before it caught up with me.
Here's an article about Alli, he is 18 years old and this was going to be his 5th year of high school. More about Alli
Wow 6'6" 4.38....that Terrel Pryor type of numbers. But with so little experience at American football I wouldn't look for him to be a star for a few years.
You think you guys will have someone to throw the ball by then? Heyo.... its football season Seriously guys. Congrats on what appears to be a real diamond in the rough find.
Thanks Corey, yes I think that John Brantley will be able to throw the ball. I think he well might be starting at a lot of SEC schools right now and he looks to be the man the next two years after that.
Good point Bill. Im not sure if he'd start at Ole Miss or Arkansas, but I'd bet he'd be in the run, if not 'the guy', at many other SEC schools. I'll be interested to see him get some quality time this year. Last season, I thought Urban left Tebow in too long when there was some good learning experiences on the field in safe situations. With Tebow gone for sure next year, I'd think they'd look to get Brantley on the field whenever possible.
Corey, those two schools are the reason I said a lot of instead of all. I hope to see Brantley more this season also. But I have faith he will do well when the job is passed to him.
It's not just Urban, most of the coaches with top QB leave them in till very late in the game. If they didn't there is no way they would rack up some of the stats that they do and be competitive for post season awards. It will be interesting to see how much time backups at UF, Tex, OU get this year as they will all lose their QB's but yet McCoy, Bradford, and Tebow are all Heisman Candidates and need the stats and their teams need to rack up big wins to maintain poll positions.
Bill I read the SI article on Tebow while waiting for a haircut this weekend. Very good article, seems as Tim was born to be a preacher. I'll bet the SEC DCoord would be more than willing to collect the funds necessary to buy him a building to start his church. Only caveat would be he'd have to be on duty full time starting Sept 1!
