Amazingly (not really, because it's a well known tough conference) the B12 won every game today...not bad.

Well 7-1 for the SEC but there were a lot of ugly wins over some teams that should have been routs. I'm not impressed with Alabama's win over Tulane at all.

Florida covered one of the three largest spreads Miami had going into a game in 30 years.

If Miami contends in the ACC and it looks like they could I'll take the 26-3 W the Gators had over the Canes.

It's funny though that the talking heads are giving Da U all this credit and the Florida defense not much...even though UM was held under 200 yds of offense and only 3 points.

The SEC as a whole did well at 7-1 but I thought La-Monroe was going to knock off Arkansas.

kp, Alabama played super last week against Clemson and won ugly this week. The truth is that no team plays at their top level every week and when you find a way to win when you are not at your best that is usually when you have an outstanding season.

A lot of Gator fans are whining about our game with Miami also. They can rot in my opinion.

So you are 2 - 0 and I think you will contend for the West.

    Bill,
I hear what you are saying but this is the same pattern we have had for the last 5 or 6 years. One week we play great and the next week we struggle against much weaker teams. Now an ugly win is alot better than a great loss but as far as Alabama I am still withholding judgement. Now if we were playing a team like Miami then I would be happy, but we should have rolled over Tulane. I'm not down yet but what I see so far looks a lot like what I have seen in our recent past. Georgia in a couple of weeks. Let's see how we do then. That will be a good indicator and it doesn't have to be a win to be a positive. :?

A&M loss to Arky State and Baylor loss to Wake Forrest in week 1 are the only losses for the B12 right now. BTW Arky State beat their foe 83-10 this weekend..maybe they aren't too bad!! :)

Big Ten went 11-0, but no serious opponents for the most part.

We went 6-3 not counting Georgia Tech beating Boston College but a pretty weak showing considering Middle Tennessee beat Maryland 24-14..What's up with that???

    MCG,

The Florida defense looked tough and had lots of speed in person and dominated our offensive line in what was supposed to be the strongest area of our team this year. I wonder how a more experienced QB would have performed last night against your gators but either way he would need to be very mobile against the speed.

I know the Fridge is a Maryland alum, but after his good start it's been pretty mediocre. I wonder if he's on the hotseat?

I thought Marve had great presence and mobility if not accuracy on long throws.
