:roll: That Oregon performance was monumentally pathetic by any measure. I don't know why the Pac10 keeps sending teams to the Las Vegas Bowl when they don't want to be there, because this is getting ridiculous. The LVB got an exclusive arrangement with the Pac after Nevada-Las Vegas bombed Arkansas 31-14 in 2000. Since then, USC, UCLA and now Oregon have all been no-shows against the likes of Utah, Wyoming and BYU. If you saw those games then you know how bad they were. This year it was the Ducks. Aside from the worst uniforms in sports, the Duckies didn't even resemble the team that was highly ranked early in the season and beat Oklahoma. They lost their last four in-a-row and looked bad doing it. None of their QBs knew what they were doing...not that it mattered, because their WRs dropped everything anyway. Their offense, supposedly their stregnth, stunk up the joint...

Here is the entire story with link: Bowl Welcomes Teams with Outback Steakhouse Feast Tampa, FL -- Outback Bowl officials extended a special welcome to the Penn State Nittany Lions and the Tennessee Volunteers tonight during the first official bowl event of the week at the Outback Steakhouse Team Welcome Dinner. Teams were treated to a feast from Outback Steakhouse while bowl representatives welcomed the players and presented gifts to the Head Coaches, Athletic Directors and their wives. And a feast it was as the teams devoured 5,000 lbs of food including 750 lbs of steak, 1,100 lbs of lobster & shrimp pasta, 700 lbs of Caesar salad, 200 lbs of green beans, 950 lbs of Bloomin Onions and 1,300 lbs of chocolate cake. Both coaches spoke briefly at the event. As Coach Joe Paterno made his way to the podium with the help of canes for support (as a result of his leg injury) he warned “you guys from Tennessee don’t get too cocky because I’m not going to play.” He also noted “It’s good to be here and a part of the Outback Bowl. We hope to have a lot of fun this week and play a great football game.” “We are delighted to be here,” reiterated Tennessee Coach Phillip Fulmer. “We also want to congratulate the Penn State team. Coach Paterno is a legend to so many of us. It’s fantastic to be a part of the great tradition of the Outback Bowl.”

Tough going so far. Reminds me of a couple of years ago when the Big 10 fared poorly. The only loss I'm really surprised by so far is the Ducks. I expect Cal will pick up the win tonight. Oregon State can win if the good Matt Moore shows up. USC/Michigan to me is a toss-up. Pac has to win out just to go .500, though. I'm looking forward to the LSU/Notre Dame game as well. I understand tensions are running high among the Irish fans, however.
