Kansas reamains hot, Durant suffers ankle sprain, UCLA loses to Washington, Wisconsin nips Michigan State, Ohio State barely makes it past Michigan. Georgetown looks good in the Big East Florida plays Kentucky today, Duke and North Carolina battle as well Conference tournaments will follow next week. A lot of basketball for those who enjoy this time of year. Don
Elite 8 will contain, among others, Georgetown, Florida, Ohio St, Kansas. also MAYBE UCLA, Pitt, N Carolina, Texas
For sure Don. Right I've got some major concerns about my Gators, but at this time last year us Gator fans were saying similar thoughts. The Kentucky game today is big for the Gators for lots of reasons. For starters it's a big game just because they are Kentucky. Secondly we need some momentum going into the SEC Tournement. But the most important reason might be that no SEC team has ever beaten Kentucky six in a row and we are now at five in a row so today we could make history. Gator Bill
Bill, Local Broadcast TV is scheduled with college basketball on CBS, but teams are not identified. I am hoping the Gators and Kentucky will be aired here at noon? Duke and N.C. are listed at 4:00 P.M. Don
Irish finished the season strong, if we can win a couple of BET games we may have our highest seed in years. I doubt if we can make a run to the Elite 8, but a Sweet 16 would be sweet!!
Some VERY big questions still out there with only 1 week left. Not only do we not know who the overall #1 seed will be (UCLA probably blew it), we don't even know who the #1 seeds will be. The pool of possibilities isn't huge, but I was expecting it to be sown up by this time. Gonna be a great week!
Bill, Turns out the Gators and Wildcats is on national coverage. Great first half, someone is going to cool off. Question is which team? Don
We did look good today, I hope this is a end of season roll we started today. Kentucky threw all they had at us in the first half and we hung with them to pull away in the 2nd half. This is the first time Kentucky has lost 6 straight SEC games ever.  Gator Bill
 I watched UCLA lose to Washington and it was pathetic. The Bruins had already won the Pac10 and should have just mailed this one in. They had several long cold periods where their offense just disappeared, going 0-7, 0-12, 1-14 etc. It looked like no one wanted the ball. Even worse, their strength is a half-court trap defense, which requires the guys away from the ball to hustle their tails off. If those guys DON'T hustle, the offense will always have a wide open shot, with a lot of "back doors" near the basket. That's exactly what happened all night. Poor Ben Howland used ALL of his game time-outs just minutes into the second half, but it was no use. They wouldn't wake up...
I thought North Carolina looked great this afternoon. Duke does not have the talent this season, as in years poast. Hansborough really took a vicious hit in the nose with just a few seconds left in the game. It did not appear intentional to me, but the Duke player was ejected and will serve a one game suspension in the upcoming ACC tournament. Don
I just found out today that one team has beaten Kentucky 7 straight and it was...................................... NOTRE DAME! Floida Beats Kentucky 6 Straight About 4 paragraphs down Gator Bill
I wonder when that was, the Irish have a rich basketball tradition that most are unaware of these days. We were once one of the elite of basketball.
Meanwhile Boilers are just hopin' to go to the dance...gotta win against Iowa in the B10 2nd round or else we might just be the second B10 team in history to have 20 wins and yet not get invited. Nontheless was a really good season for Matt Painter...20 wins, 4th place tie in B10, and 14-1 record at home...with an excellent recruiting class coming in next year... We just might be back soon.
Stu, I read somewhere that Purdue has an outside shot at the Dance. Illinois' loss to Iowa might have opened the door a crack. I agree about this season being the best in years. I'm excited that the program may be on the rise. It's been - what? - 5 years since they've had 20 wins? Something like that.
