How are you Hockey fans holding up with no NHL? Also even though I don't really follow college hockey...I did see that the Irish beat Michigan back to back in mid-November. Always good!
We miss it big time here in Hockeytown. The during the week the only winter professional sport is the Pissed-ons, not much fun to watch.
I gave up on hockey when, about two minutes after the Lightning won one of the best Stanley Cup finals ever, the NHL and players cancelled the 2004-2005 season. Hockey hasn’t been the same for me since.
I do not start getting into hockey untill after the Bowl season and then I primarily follow college hockey. The Wolvies are not good this year and will probably miss the NCAA playoffs for the first time in years. Once I heard that the NHL player's union signed Don Fehr, I figured this season was doomed. This is the guy who blocked effective drug testing in baseball until he got hauled before Congress and was savaged by John McCain and decided it was a wise tactical move to strike during the season resulting in the cancellation of the WS. That is why owners now lockout players after a CBA ends. The NHL is a complete and utter mess. Perpetual labor strife. Ticket prices are overpriced and too many games and too many teams have really diminished the quality of the game. And my mood is pretty sour on college football. Other than the great match up with ND and Ala, the rest of the bowl schedule is horrible other than a handful of games. The monopoly board game going on with conference exansion is destroying the traditions and history of the game which made it a great sport. I think I need a new sport upon which to fixate. Professional women's beach volleyball seems to be the likely candidiate.
