Longhorns in the top 25 for Baseball America, don't see the Aggies. Will see the Aggies though April 2nd in Austin!
Longhorns had Alumni game this past weekend...even had Roger Clemens throwing some innings...still can get it up to around 85mph with the heater! We open the 15th vs the Rajun Cajuns, bring LSU to Austin and going out to Stanford for a 4 game series in March. Baylor and Texas Tech are ranked ahead of us and it looks like Vanderbilt has become the Alabama of college baseball.
Meh... I'm resigned to us being "good", but never "good enough" as long as Childress is at the helm. He doesn't demand great defense, and our hitting is sporadic at best. He has has some loaded teams that just fell flat when the bright lights are on...
That guy needs to hire me. If it's great defense you want, it's the best defense I'll give you. Granted, the players would be salty, we wouldn't be liked by a lot of people and the pitching would be nasty... I've said this a thousand times in the last 18 years. If I could just get one program to bite, they'd see.
Texas Baseball off to an ok start, but not great. Unusual that we had Purdue for a 4 game home series, which we won 3-1. We also road tripped to the Rajun Cajuns and took 2 our of 3. But chickens come home to roost with the undefeated high flying LSU Tigers coming to Austin. Our top pitcher goes tonight, he's so far been nearly perfect with a 0.64 ERA. Later this month we road trip to Stanford for 4 games. Irish baseball has been as expected....terrible. I don't know why we didn't fire our coach after last season, this season is going to be a lost year and set the program back even further.
The Aggies knock of Baylor Friday night, and TCU tonight. If this keeps up, we'll be in 1st place in the BIG XII by tomorrow evening.
Scott! Aggies sweep the tourney in Houston! Beat Baylor, TCU and UofH. Didn't play Texas State though!
This is a question mostly for JO'Co I guess...but any of you guys familiar with Purdue's coach Mark Wasikowski? He seems to have the program rolling and he got us into the tourney in 2018 for just the third time ever. He played for the Los Alamitos Broncos youth baseball team that won the World series title in 1983 then went to HS at Los Alamitos. He went to Santa Ana College and then left and played two years for Pepperdine including the year they won the 1992 College World Series. Here's a picture of him in the Championship game of the World Series. He flipped over the catcher and knocked the ball loose...but was ruled tagged out by the pitcher though photographic evidence later showed that he touched the plate first.
Well... it's way early in the conference season, but the Aggies take two of three from #2 Vanderbilt. Better than a sharp stick in the eye.
Don't know details, but the Irish won their second straight ACC series, this time 2-1 over #12 Clemson.
