Lloyd Carr alleged to have called Big 10 Commissioner about one-eyed ref, leading to his firing. I wonder why Carr isn't mentioned by name?
I read this on another board. I don't know how the B10 can win the lawsuit since they gave him better fitness reports after he lost his eye than they did before hand. Also I would think that juries would be very sympathetic to a guy who has overcome something as serious as loss of an eye and been able to continue to do his job. Practically speaking though it seems to me that this exposes that the B10 doesn't really evaluate the refs, as I can't see how this guy overcame the change in peripheral vision as well as depth perception. Which of course brings up the fact that he must have been the ref in that Purdue game where Purdue players were dancing to the endzone out of bounds. Ref couldn't see it to call it!! Terry
First of all, it was terrible that his health condition was known and disclosed by a reporter. Second, that clown in Ann Arbor just loves to intimidate refs. If I were them, I'd make sure that one of the next job casualties in the Big Ten is Carr.
Eye dunno about Lloyd. It seems he's lost sight of what's important. It's like he's so focused on winning he can't see the forest for the trees. He needs a new vision.
Yep, you know football season is sneaking up when Irish love notes about Lloyd start to be posted. The B10 needs to be more like the Euros and allow blind referees the chance to make a living.
