Seems like a very bad idea and some heads should roll to me. Scaring the crap out of 6th graders isn't a drill if you ask me.
When you consider the possible ramifications, ie. panic attacks, stampedes, heart attacks etc. it is incredibly stupid and careless. Heads should roll.
great <t>well maybe they should start practicing what to do in 'real life jailhouse rape'<br/> scenarios.<br/> <br/> We put a guy in jail for possession of nominal amounts of marijuana but these guys can forever damage a room full of children forever and face nothing but a slap on the hand. What a world we live in with administrators and educators such as these......<br/> <br/> The children's parents will sue, and win big.. The taxpayers will pay, dearly. Just as they will continue to pay when these dong jockeys get another teaching job at a school district down the road...<br/> <br/> ugh</t>
I'm flabbergasted. No one involved in this incident, teacher or administrator, would ever be given a license as an educator in California. This is the most appalling case of educational malpractice that I've ever heard of. This wasn't just one crazy teacher harming students; Code Red safety drills are planned in advance by administrators and involve the school district, the police, and the fire department, as well as ALL teachers on campus. What in the hell were these people thinking? None of them should be involved with the care or education of children. They're not educators by any standard that I'm aware of...
