Ol' NU sure does like these Ohio boys....what's your take on this guy? JOHN GROCE Also rumored is UCLA coach Ben Howland who has some NU ties. Dr. Tom is mum on any speculative front runners (as his usual style), but seems to be more interested in a candidates plan for future recruiting, since Doc Sadler proved to be very deficient in that dept. As bad as NU has been over the years, I would say that no matter who the coach is, it'll be 3-4 years minimum before any noticeable turnaround catches anyone's attention. Similar to the Cubbies...you can only hope.
Huskerman, Excellent coach and recruiter. Worked as an assistant to Thad Matta, prior to becoming Head Coach at Ohio University. One of the younger and brighter coaches in my opinion. Do not think you could go wrong if you hire.
Don, That's what it looks like. I like his age (40), and the fact he's had success and a couple of promotions under OSU. Recruiting will be a must for NU, or we will NEVER get out of the basement.
Ditto what Don said Husker....looks like a step in the right direction. Be interesting to see if he can continue to recruit....Lincoln is a long way from the city high school gyms and playgrounds that he's been accustomed to recruiting up till now...... hope it works out
That's what I'm talking about....but then again, he'll just have to get some windshield time in...right?
Huskerman, Did you take note of John Groce's Bobcats (Ohio) upsetting Michigan last night? His team upset Georgetown last season as will in NCAA tournament play
