Sarkisian the apparent next coach. Texas expected to hire Steve Sarkisian as coach, firing Tom Herman after four seasons with Longhorns
Sark might be a very good hire. He's been a HC before at big time programs, he's known to be a good recruiter, he's recovered from his alcoholism, he's been on Saban's staff so he can see how things should be done. I like it. Also he's been mentored not just by Saban, but also by Norm Chow who was the architect of the great USC offenses under Pete Carroll and by Pete Carroll himself. So he's got the background to do very well.
What was I saying about losing play callers? He's been good for Alabama and I think Alabama has been good for him. I hope he stays for the championship game.
He will stay through the Championship game. This is nothing new for Saban, almost every year one of his Coordinators takes a head coaching job. It will be interesting to see what his staff looks like. I wonder if he will keep DCoord Chris Ash?
Take Will Muschamp off the board at Texas, he's apparently hoping for some position at Georgia where his son Jackson was a freshman QB this fall.
Interesting about Muschamp, the job at Georgia is apparently an analyst job which is not as high paying as a true assistant. He has done quite well with buyouts. I kind of like the thought that he wants to be where his son is.
