Here's a good article on the Lady Vols vs Lady Gators game.

Parker is a legitimate "above the rim" player. She can and does slam dunk.

Congrats to the Lady Gators. They won it in overtime but they still won it.

I read in our local paper this morning that it is only the second time in the program's history that they have lost to an unranked team. That is truly amazing.

Maybe they'd lose a few more if Indiana girls stayed home!! :)

I think that is our first win over Tennessee since they have been the ladies basketball power in the SEC.

Carolyn Peck has done a great job in Gainesville and we will hopefully be competetive year after year.

    Terry,

Speaking of Indiana girls, Muffet McGraw has recruited 3 of them for next year's freshman class. One is from here in Ft. Wayne, one is from St. Joseph HS in South Bend, and the third is Ken Barlow's daughter, Ashley Barlow, from Indpls. Hopefully it will work for ND like it has for TN.

I'm going up to the ND-Pitt womens game tonight in SB. I have a business acquaintance who has season tickets. I enjoy making the trip once each season.

It is interesting the number of high profile Indiana girls who end up at Tenn. I am sure that part of the reason is that IU pretty much ignored it's womens basketball program for so many years, and ND wasn't really a big player till we joined the Big East, before that we were in some small midwest conference. That left only Purdue as a serious destination for Inidana girls.

    Terry,

Because you opened the subject, I'll comment that the new IU coach, Sharon Versyp, is a Purdue alum, and IU beat Purdue recently for the first time in many years. I look for IU to continue moving upward under this new coach and to begin competing head-to-head with Purdue for the top Indiana HS talent.
