No real suprises here, except for Jacory Harris who is getting a lot of love.
Name Position School Year 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th Total Tim Tebow QB Florida Sr. 9 4 0 1 1 64 Jahvid Best RB Cal Jr. 6 4 3 2 0 59 Colt McCoy QB Texas Sr. 0 2 10 2 1 43 Jacory Harris QB Miami So. 0 4 1 5 4 33 Case Keenum QB Houston Jr. 0 0 0 3 2 8 Eric Berry S Tennessee Jr. 0 1 0 0 2 6 Dez Bryant WR Oklahoma State Jr. 0 0 0 2 1 5 Jimmy Clausen QB Notre Dame Jr. 0 0 1 0 1 4 Tony Pike QB Cincinnati Sr. 0 0 0 0 3 3

I have read some parting shots at Fla from L Kiffin in which he said that UF won because of Tebow or something to that effect. We don't really know that to be fully true as Meyer has more than one trick up his sleeve when needed but if opposing coaches keep saying that kind of thing and the media keeps reporting it I don't see anyone winning the Heisman but Timmy if the Gators keep winning.
No doubt Tebow will be hard to unseat in the race. He'll have to lose a game and play poorly while the competition is very hot. So far Colt McCoy while not exactly playing badly, isn't getting off to a hot start. For Colt the big game that can boost him will be the OU game, have a big game there and beat OU and he'll gain a lot of votes. As a RB Jahvid Best is at a little disadvantage as RB's are a little more likely to get nicked up and miss a game or have a couple of bad games. But if CAL gets on a roll and wins big and he can rip off some 200yd games then he can continue to be right on Tebows tail. Also I think the media will most likely cut Tebow a little more slack for a subpar game or a loss than they will some of the other guys. As an Irish fan I think Clausen might be the best QB in the country, but he'll have a tough road to move into serious contention. The guys in front of him have deeper resumes and this is the first season Jimmy has lived up to the promise he had as a HS Qb. So he won't be allowed any bad games, in fact he's going to need a series of terrific games stats wise, more so than what he's done so far which has been outstanding.
Clausen is the best QB in the country. Tebow is the favorite player. And Best is the top running back and possibly the top football player. Perception is a powerful tool.
I don't know if I'd go that far Krebsie, but he has played well enough thus far to be on the short list for sure.....
