It's somewhat interesting that no Big 10 QB has ever won the Heisman, given the great history and tradition of the conference. Re: the so-called Heisman hex: Someone please correct me if my memory is off course. I vaguely recall that after Tim Brown won the Heisman, we got pasted by Texas A&M in the Cotton Bowl, and TB did not have a very good game. I believe a member of the Aggies' kickoff team stole his towel after a KO return, and he chased the guy down to get it back.
I can confirm that Sid, I was at the game!! The Aggies even scored on the Swinging Gate 2 point conversion!! Terry
Then...to make Bucs fans feel better there was Heisman winner Danny Weurffel vs. FSU in the '97 Sugar Bowl......52-20 Gators.
Brady may have another bullet to dodge. Chuck Long, Andre Ware, Joey Harrington..... what do they have in common? Yep high draft choice QBs who were given a ticket to pallokaville by being drafted by the Lions. Right now which team would draft first if selections were today? Yep, the God-awful Detroit Lions.
The Lions would have their Qb if they would have been smart enough to draft Jay Cutler last year. I hope Brady has a tough backside if he is drafted by the Lions.
I think we learned that Brady has a tough backside this year! Ticket to palookaville... I love it
