Obviously someone up in his home state must have pi&&ed in his cornflakes when he was growing up: http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/eye-on-college-football/25113805/steve-spurrier-still-loves-to-take-shots-at-tennessee Although I do agree with him that Tenn is pretty excited I think about their progress last season compared to the Gamecocks disappointment with their identical record of a season I also think he missed the point of that optimism up in K-ville. I agree with any and all pundits that are saying the Vols are close to being back in the thick of the SEC East race.... very very close.
Well it does beg the obvious...In Knoxville things have been down so getting over .500 and winning the bowl game is a sign things are moving in the right direction and cause for optimism and exuberance. While in Columbia where they'd had multiple 10 win seasons and high expectations it's natural for the fans to be disappointed. Same record, but it's understandable why the fanbases react differently. it wasn't that long ago that the roles would have been reversed.
