Mark McGwire is returning to baseball with the Cardinals this year. ..
    Cardinals

FWIW I don't have much in terms of expectations from the Astros this season. Just too many holes that haven't been filled and we'd have to have career years from just about everybody on the roster to win the division.

    Terry,

I saw an analysis that gave credit to the Astros for their position player lineup, with the exception that they need to replace Tejada at SS. The negative was that they need to add SP if they expect to contend, and it does not look like that's going to happen.

Sid my biggest disappointment recently has been the decline of Lance Berkman, at one time he was an all-star caliber player now he seems more like a journeyman and Roy Oswalt seems to be in decline as well.

Well, well, a ray of hope ....Astro's signed Brett Meyer, assuming he passes the physical. If he's fully recovered from the hip problem he should be a big help with the starting rotation.
