Mariano Rivera Roy Halladay Edgar Martinez Mike Mussina I agree with these selections. Rivera becomes the first unanimous pick ever. I agree with that too. Those who didn't vote for Ruth, Cobb, Williams, Spahn or Willie Mays should be ashamed of themselves.
BTW- Babe Ruth's Yankee home jersey is up for auction, appraised at $5 million. Jackie Robinson's first contract is also up for auction appraised at $36 million. As Dr. Martin Luther King said, "I didn't start the Civil Rights Movement; Jackie Robinson did."
Good class, I'm surprised Schilling didn't get in, I suspect it's because of his personality and some of the stuff he says that gets in the news. I imagine though that he will eventually make it. That Rivera got 100% of the votes is a reflection that modern voters have finally just accepted that it's ok for somebody to get 100% because they are truly elite. Babe Ruth didn't get it, Nolan Ryan didn't get, Hank Aaron didn't get it. Roger Clemens didn't make any progress, he'd been slowly inching up in his %. But not this year.
