Last night, his Lawrence North team won its third consecutive Indiana HS 4A (largest schools) state basketball championship, tying with Marion HS in the 80s and the Oscar Robertson-led Crispus Attucks teams of the late 50s. Oden won the Trester Award, the most prestigious individual award in Indiana HS basketball. It is given to a member of one of the two finals teams who has been nominated by his school for excellence in academics, leadership and sports. He has a 3.8 grade-point average. Certainly a very special young man.
