Sometimes a team's recruiting class drops a few notches when the fall rolls around and the academically marginal players are not in it.

Fortunately for UF last Feb.'s consensus top 2 class is at least as good now as it was then.

I find it tough to believe that Vandy actually signed a player to a LOI and then denied him admission even though he met NCAA requirements. At ND where I'm sure academic requirements for football players are similar, he couldn't have been offered a scholarship unless the admissions people passed on him first. Eliminates stuff like that.

I think Bill once said that UF, like ND, makes the coaches clear players with admissions before they can offer them a scholarship. To me it's the logical way to do things, why bring a player to school if he can't succeed. Everybody loses in that situation, the Kid because maybe he could have suceeded at a less difficult academic situation and the school because they didn't get a player who could contribute on the field due to the academics.

That's right Terry admissions are in on the decisions to bring kids to visit.

That doesn't mean that we don't end up with a few that don't qualify, but year in and year out our percentages of kids not getting in is very low. And Meyer usually won't sign someone who is marginal. He is doing very well in that area.
