Great win for the BCS title tonight. It's hard to say who is the MVP, for me, between Harvin or Tebow. The 'no show' award in this game goes to OU's WRs. They were out-hustled and generally played soft/lazy and cost OU 2 critical INTs. Not to take away from UF's defense. They made the plays and wanted it more.
Gator D was the difference, Sooners had some good plays but not enough and those defensive stands in the first half were awesome. I have to give the MVP to Tim Tebow, Harvin made some great plays no doubt, but I think Tebow made more. I have to say that little shovel pass to the TE on the option look is brilliant. I love that play. Congrats to the Gators. Terry
There was a lot more of a defensive game than anticipated. I sure won't knock the Sooner defense. Thanks.
The Sooners played great defense for the most part and that surprised me. That was probably the best I have seen out of a Big 12 defense all year. However....the Gator defense was everything it was supposed to be and more. Harvin, Tebow, Hernandez and several on the D won the game. Thanks for the congrats! GO GATORS!!
Fabulous job by Meyer and the Gators. Congratulations you guys. Can we still sit at your table? 8) My picks for MVP would have been: 1. Harvin 2. Tebow 3. Wright
Way to go Florida. I firmly believe defenses win NC's and surprisingly there were 2 very good ones on the field last night. The goal line stands by Florida were key. Also, their use of the tight end was brilliant. I think most teams usually try to account for the WR's but the tight ends are to be covered by whoever is left over. Hernandez killed OU. Congratulations Gators!
Thanks Kp and George. I am not surprised that Florida's defense held OU in check but holding them to 14 points was a surprise. I am very encouraged about all the defensive returning players next year so that should be fun for us Gator fans to look forward to. Hernandez the TE is only a soph and on offense I think the Gators will have plenty of weapons to defend their title in '09.
Congratulations to the Florida folks. You have much to be proud of, including - but not limited to - your coach.
