I don't know how many of you guys follow college basketball, but there are some great games just completed/coming up. With all the conference challenges and tournaments we are seeing some great match-ups. I was really pulling for the Bucks last night. A win over UNC would have been huge (for my Aggies' SOS as well!), but they fell just a little short. More good stuff coming up this weekend. My Aggies will face Rick's Cats out west. I think Kansas is playing USC. Can't remember the other match-ups off the top of my head. If only football would have a playoff... we could have games like this on the gridiron as well...
Scott, I fear my Bucks are just a little too young and inexperienced to match up well with the big boys as your Ags showed in NYC and the Heels proved again last night as they schooled Koufos and the other youngsters. I think the talent level is exceptional, but shot discipline, patience and consistent defensive intensity is still to come. I think they will be a different team at the end of the year. I'm still looking for 20 wins, a shot a the conference title and the big dance. That would be fine for this year..... best of luck to your Ags.
Buckeye Terry, I hope you are correct in your assessment of the Buckeyes. Right now watching them can be downright painful! Don
Don, living in NC as I do, few things can be as painful as watching them fall to the Tar Heels.....! I saw alot of good things and alot of bad things last night but have great confidence in Coach Matta as a teacher. It was great to see Diebler FINALLY get his jumper going...that will be a big help down the road!
Oregon is at Kansas State today. Oklahoma is at USC today. Scott's Aggies are at Arizona on Sunday Tejas is at UCLA on Sunday Kansas is at USC on Sunday. Arizona lost at Kansas in OT last weekend, with the Cats giving a much better showing than I feared they might. Turnovers are probably their biggest problem at this point, although they seem to have resdiscovered how to play defense. A&M is going to be one tough game. I wouldn't be surprised to see the teams score in the sixties.
Lute's been back at practices, Buck-T, but he's not ready to return full-time yet. Kevin O'Neill continues to run the team, and he's doing a pretty good job. The reason for Lute's absence is a family situation; the sort of thing that doesn't just get better overnight.
I've always like Lute going back to his time at Iowa....I hope things work out for the best in his personal situation.....God knows he's had enough tough luck in his personal life.
