I have refrained from discussing this because everybody here seems to not be into the NBA...but... Last Year; This Year;
Cleveland Rocks!! Greatest comeback ever in a final. I have to hand it to Labron, he came up big when he had to come up big. But it wasn't just him, it was the whole team. Last year they didn't have Irving or Love if I remember correctly. All the talk now is who is greater Labron or Michael. Both had 3 NBA championships at age 31. But it's different era's, like comparing Babe Ruth to any of the great players who came after him. Different era's, both great players. How about all those old Celtics who have so many rings, Bill Russell esp. Then what about Wilt, maybe the greatest player ever, or Jabar or the Big O. Now do you think the Indians can make it to the WS and join the party!
Congratulations, Stu. I watched the games, and like you I didn't post because of the general apathy here toward the NBA. I don't have a problem with it, just acknowledging its existence. We'll never know if Green's absence from game 5 made a difference, but having been a fan of his prior to his suspension, I believe what he did was incredibly stupid and hurt his team. Nevertheless, I was impressed (who wouldn't be) with how both Irving and James literally put the team on their backs and refused to lose. A very impressive comeback and well-deserved win.
Not a big fan of the NBA myself, but kudos to the Cavaliers! Cleveland fans have suffered for a number of years. Their Last championship was in 1964 (Jim Brown) in football.
Corey what's interesting about Kevin Love is that after a decent game 5 he got into early foul trouble in game 6 and was a non-factor. Cavs were minus 6 points during his time on the court. Kept reading and hearing from the experts about how he should just not be used in game 7 to any extent. In the final game Cavs were plus 14 points while he was in there. Amazing stat in a game that was tied going into the final minute. I can't find that stat on the internet (I saw it on Sports Center) but the nearest guy was plus 8 or 9 points and LeBron was, I think, plus 6.
Sometimes big games are won by little plays from guys you gave up on, but are still out there battling. This was a great win for Cleveland and no doubt cements King James among the greats of all-time.
LeBron made a couple of unbelievable blocks of shots that he was seemingly out of the play. He was absolutely incredible in those last three games. Irving was just about as good.
This (the area around the Q and Progressive Field) is just the start of the parade route. If you look at the top of the picture in the distance near the football stadium you can see Mall B is packed with thousands and thousands more waiting for the party at the end of the parade route.
Oh, yeah...but he's never been at Progressive Field (formerly Jacobs Field)...he was on the old Municipal Stadium and when it was demolished he was donated to the Western Reserve Historical Society Museum where he was refurbished and is on display...along with all kinds of politically correct and politically incorrect history of the ongoing controversy.
