Congratulations to Bama fans. It was obvious who was the best team. You guys have a great chance to go all the way. My hope is that we win out and get a chance to play a better game in Atlanta. Not sure I would look forward to playing you guys again though.
MCG, I want a rematch for the simple reason that if we don't get to Atlanta that means we lose another game before that. I would prefer to get to Atlanta and get beat again than to lose before then. What I would hope is that our young players continue to improve.' However this season I see Alabama as the odds on favorite.
I think who ever gets beat by Bama in Atlanta is in the Outback Bowl......which isn't so bad if I get the pass that day to go to the game.
Terry, I don't believe we play in S. Carolina this year. The game is in Gainesville. One of the two I am planning on attending.
It would appear The Tide is the class of the SEC, but some difficult games remain. That's what make college football so enjoyable to me. No team is safe until seasons end. Don
Thanks Gator and MCG, but although Bama is considered the favorite, anything can happen in a rematch and I have a feeling it could be a very tight game (if it happens). The Bama secondary really improved over the Arkansas game (especially the first half of that game), but Florida clearly showed it can move the ball on the Bama D, but made too many critical turnovers. I'm sure Urban Meyer will be working on that. RTR
Bryan, I agree. Some of the turnovers are a credit to our defense but not all. If Arkansas had eliminated the turnovers last week, Alabama probably loses. If Florida eliminates the turnovers, then this is a very close game. Of course Meyer helped us when he went for it on 4th down, but that call ended up not mattering because of other things. I'm still not sure how good Alabama really is. On to South Carolina. 8)
Besides the loss, another question was answered in this game. Now only was the jump pass mastered by Tim Tebow, the replication by other Gator QBs isn't even close.
I heard that pass was tipped at the line but I wonder about that. Burton should have floated it high over the defenders. Also, not once did the UF coaches have Burton run wide for the corner in the red zone as he did 4 times for TDs vs. Kentucky. Not even once. Addazio ( UF offensive coordinator ) is catching some serious heat as well he should be.
Ole Miss put 42 points on Kentucky, and that is not a good Ole Miss team...so maybe the "breakout" game the Gator offense had vs Kentucky wasn't a breakout. Maybe everybody is going to be putting points up on Kentucky.
Mebbe so......but would have liked to see Burton run wide just once. Couldn't have been worse results and that inability to stick it in several times when UF got deep in the RZ was the killing factor in the game.......although the butt kickin was certainly a complete one.
