...But ND is now at the Top of his List!! This, I'm afraid, might be the beginning of the exodus of the amazing recruiting class we have for '08. Jonas Gray (Rivals #4 RB), a 4-star running back from Michigan has officially decommitted from Nebraska. He said that NU is still on the table, but he wanted to formally begin looking elsewhere as well. He admits the reason he had committed to the Huskers is because his strong relationship with the coaches. IMO, this is the 2nd best player in the upcoming class. Proceeded by Baker Steinkuhler (5-star from NE) and followed by Blaine Gabber (5-star QB from MO). Candidates are: Notre Dame, Michigan and LSU
I've seen rumours AJ that Blaine is starting to look around as well. I can't imagine you'll lose Steinkuhler though. Not to wish anything bad on your team, I'm hoping that we can pickup both Gray and Trevor Robinson. However I really wouldn't expect to lose a ton of guys, a lot of those kids chose Neb because it was Neb and will stick with you. A couple might drift away, but I'll bet you keep the majority of your commits. I remember back in 2001 when Davie was clearly on the ropes, I don't think we lost more than 1 or 2 kids that Davie had verbals on and that was through a bad season, the O'Leary fiasco, and not even having a coach for a month. Keep the faith! But don't watch the game Sat it could be ugly! 8)
8) HUSKEROBJECT.....valiant effort vs Texas....either they are not that good or Neb is getting better. Miami's recruiting is by far the best in years....at this time last year....we only had 2 oral commits This season under coaches Randy Shannon and Clint Hurtt we have 19 oral commits ranked #1 by Espn.com, #4 by Scout.com, #7 by Rivals.com Of those 19 commits so far; an unbelievable 11 of them are ranked in the Top 150 prospects in the nation In the next three weeks we are getting visits by 5 of the Top 25 Recruits with a great shot at landing 3 of them. Miami's academic standards are now above 2.5 GPA and 820 SAT, those are minimum for consideration to admission and the grad rate is well over 70% placing Miami in the top 10% tier of college football programs with grad rates. Next season redshirted Robert Marve, the phenomenal QB that broke all of Tebow's records will be competing with two other incoming QBs that are also super athletes Miami's future is bright
8) What can really be said about recruit ratings and their performance at the college level when Matt Ryan was rated # 46 and Miami's Kyle Wright at #1 ?? A bit of a bs stretch if you asked me
