So my son wants to know what and why I find the circus of humanity to be so entertaining, and he's spreading his wings a bit. Donald Trump is coming to HSV so we're going to go see him do some stump speech and maybe catch a few of his jackbooted followers up to no good. There's a rumor that the Westboro Baptist people will be there, although I have no idea why, but I hope so. Really, how much bat **** crazy can be jammed into a day? :) We could only hope that the Klan shows up, or maybe the American Nazi Party.

Sounds like fun! In 1968, your mother and I went to campaign rallies. We saw Richard Nixon at the Anaheim Convention Center and George Wallace at the Long Beach Sports Arena. It was a blast...

Make sure that you share this with him first:

    http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2015/sep/21/carly-fiorina/trumps-four-bankruptcies/

My youngest son is in need of some medical care now that may cost me thousands that I really cannot afford in my 60s in this day and age of you're on your fuc@ing own.

My wife is an RN with what you may consider is decent insurance compared to the crappy insurance most Americans have today and still this looming expense may be crippling so late in my earnings career... which has been severely hamstrung since W effed it all up.

So thank you Donald you sorry POS for showing me the way I may have to go in the long run.

I don't really have to worry about the cops per se.

You see, they are already under Federal investigation for:

    1. The murder of a man who supported his farm hand who was beaten by a cop as part of a bar room vendetta. It took years for the dude who was pulled over and attacked to get justice. To be frank, I honestly don't believe they'll ever bring the killer (most likely the attacker or one of his Sheriff buddies) to justice.

    2. The body slamming and crippling of an elderly Hindu man who didn't speak very good English. In Madison, the good white folks didn't like a dark skinned man (who turned out to be pretty old) walking around their neighborhood, so they called in the 'suspicious man.' The cop got pissed at him for not cooperating exactly as he said (the man didn't understand him), so the cop RKO'd his ass on the concrete sidewalk. Don't worry though, our local justice system found fit to clear the cop of all wrong doing, despite start to finish dash cam footage of the entire thing. The old man's family, a quite successful local business owner, has sued the city and begged the Federal government to get involved.

    or my personal "favorite"

Covering the tracks to the Madison County BOE and Administrators at a Madison County middle school because they hatched a 'sting' operation on their own. In this sting operation THEY USED A MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRL WITH DIMINISHED MENTAL CAPACITY AS RAPE BAIT for a kid that they knew had a history of inappropriate sexual conduct with students. They got what they wanted, the girl got raped and no one came to her aid while some 17 year old gorilla pounded her in the ass...

The key to being in Alabama is to know just where you are as decorum tends to vary wildly depending on where you are located. I'll be in Madison County so I'll teach my son the important details to people watching like this. 1. Be respectful 2. Don't talk to anyone aloud. 3. Always have 2 escape routes. 4. If the police grab you when **** goes down, you give them your name, address, age and any further questions are to be answered by your lawyer. I may play my trump card 'no pun intended' and bring at least one of my cop friends with me to watch the mad house. The problem is, he's black and even he doesn't want to be a black man in that crowd.

If you're in Cullman County, just don't be black. Thankfully, they re-aligned the districts for sports this year so that will end the Decatur-Cullman series. That had become quite contentious and both games nearly had bench clearing brawls because our young men weren't man enough to take being called 'Nigger' and being hit well after the play without penalty. This past year's game featured all out retaliation by our white players who were sick of watching the black players take that kind of abuse. The police here in Morgan County are no sweethearts, but they pale in comparison to places like Cullman where once the sign hung 'Nigger, don't let the sun set on your head in Cullman County.' We couldn't even get a police escort out of there

You see, I actually am quite respectful despite what you may think. I stopped being the wild child a long time ago. That doesn't mean that trouble still doesn't find you and it doesn't mean people will do **** about it. They won't. Proof of that was the last physical altercation I was involved in. In Birmingham (Jefferson County), a drunken bar hopper decided to pick a fight with just about anyone leaving a Spoon concert as he had deemed them all pussies. People just kept their heads down and tried to get by with some taking the punches until they could get away. He finally hit the wrong guy who broke (not bruised, not dislocated, broke) his mandible. That guy was me... but I am getting too fat and old for that stuff. Now I'd just as soon find any answer but violence, but sometimes, you can't escape it so you have to meet it in kind.

But when dealing with the police, just give them what they want and STFU... that's the American way.

    JOCO,

That's what I am hoping for, frankly. Just good old fashioned people watching to see the cast of crazy characters that make up this world.

If Cruz comes up this way, I'll be sure to try to grab that sideshow as well.

I really try to avoid these topics but I am drawn to them like a moth to a light. If you really want to avoid the police, Corey, why not stay home and hide under your bed. Or you can continue these rants and bias your own children against the police so they can grow up with the same irrational fears. But for balance, try to work into your manifesto that you know a 62 year old man who has never experienced the police intimidation that you have. None of it.

I cannot help but take personal offense at your allegations and constant railing against law enforcement. I guess its the "father" in me. My pride and appreciation of what my son deals with daily cannot be tarnished by yours or anyone else's second hand stories and fears.

One of the things you try to do as you get older is eliminate as much of the stress in your life as possible. Unfortunately, at this juncture , that would be this site and you.

Got a question for Dave. Trump has over the years started a number of companies some as we know struggled financially. You posted an article about 4 companies that had to reorganize under bankruptcy protection. Those companies created thousands of jobs. Even after the reorganization most of those people remained employed. So exactly who was hurt in these reorganizations? They weren't public companies as far as I know so there wasn't any shareholder value loss. What damage that occurred outweighed the good of the job creation?
Being a successful businessman isn't always a straight line up. Henry Ford went bankrupt twice before Ford Motor Company succeeded.

    He is 18 WSU.

Has had clinically diagnosed depression for the last few years and we just found out that basically the class of drugs he has been on do not seem to be the right ones.

Now we embark on trying to discover what will work for him and that might get even more expensive than it already has been.

    His depression is life threatening.

How am I either afraid or trying to avoid the police if I am trying to convince a policeman to come with me?

I was just listing the very recent facts about the police in the area in which we'll be. Sometimes, it's best to just do whatever they want. You guys admit as such. We have a special section of society that can do whatever the **** they want because their going home at night is somehow more important than me going home at night.

BTW, this was a topic about going to see the Donald in which the circus of humanity actually had nothing to do with the police. They're predictable. What's not is The Donald, Westboro Baptist and maybe even a few Klan members. It was Mike who said I should "Make sure your mouth get you beat up by some cops."

What's to avoid about a people watching topic? Come on George, you know full damned well you'd go to this thing with me. We haven't seen a freakshow election like this in my lifetime. As my Dad pointed out, he and my mother did the same thing for the 68 election.

As far as my 'second hand tales', these are all well documented, factual accounts of very recent police activity. They were on Fox News for Christs' sake..It should piss you off, these people are staining the great work done by guys like your son.

I've got to get a new editor. "doesn't" was supposed to be between "mouth" and "get."
