Dude had an awesome 1st round 62 and he did it on Spyglass Hill to boot. Mike Wier had a 63 but it was at Pebble Beach not considered as tough as Spyglass Hill! I love this tourney it's always fun to watch, I like the format and of course the setting is incredible. Terry
The weather is a big factor. It was pleasant at Pebble today. Here in Palm Desert it was 87 today when I hit the range. PGA West Stadium course for some humility tomorrow. Working on my short game which describes my driver and fairway woods.
Gipper, I'm reminded of a saying my dad say's all the time; show me a good golfer, and I'll show ya someone who doesn't work for a living.
Your dad's a wise man AJ. I look at it this way, if you shoot over 175 you have no business on the golf course. If you shoot under 75 you probably have no business.
J.B. Holmes is not entered in this tournament. I read last week that it turned out to be an error on his part as if he had entered and finished high enough he would have earned enough points to be on one of the Cup teams I forget which one. This is the last tournament in which points can be earned. Does the win last week get him into the Masters? That's where I'd like to see how hitt'n them 350 will work out. Terry
Hey gipper whatcha doing in Palm Springs? I hear the PGA West is a stadium course, let us know how that feels to have all those empty seats watching you play! 8)
Doc Had there been anyone in the "stadium" they would have left by the third hole. I played with some young guys who played off the blue tees. I'm getting a little old for 223 yd par threes with all carry over water. I used to think that they put bunkers on the course where the good golfers hit. I think I was wrong. I've been sand blasted....
Half the time I play with guys who have to hit it from the Blues, I spend a lot time helping them find their ball.
When I was young, I wanted to hit my driver out of sight. Now I'm at the point where I hit my 6 iron out of sight. After about 150 yds. the ball goes "behind the curtain."
