Completely destroyed by a much better team.

I didn't think we would win but didn't expect to be destroyed like we were.

I do believe that Bama is the favorite to win it all this year.

    Congratulations kp.

    Bill,

I was able to watch bits and pieces of the game. Driskell had a lot of yardage but not able to score when needed. The Tide does not looks as strong to me this year?

Don, the Gators really didn't have that much yardage but the big thing was we couldn't stop Bama when we were on defense. They converted 12/16 third downs including one 3 and 23.

We just looked bad, gave up the most yards a Gator team has ever given up and didn't move the ball on offense.

Don't get me wrong I am not throwing barbs at my team but we were man handled.

But Bama has done this to a lot of teams so we just need to let our season play out.

    Bill,
Except for turnovers, Alabama played a very good game yesterday. Defense was solid, but the offense was very good. We have a bye this week, and then Ole Miss. Blake Sims has turned out to be a lot better passer than most of us expected and he and Amari Cooper are obviously clicking right now. Driskell had a bad day, and that's probably a big understatement. :?

The Gators were completely out played and most especially outcoached.

I personally thought Lane Kiffin would have been a good offensive hire for UF and he proved me right yesterday.

I said 34-17 Bama so I was close in score but it didn't play out as I thought it might.

Horrible coaching to let Cooper skip around freely and be covered by anyone who just happened to be close by.

In retrospect Kentucky probably isn't all that good.

Long season and a coaching change ahead I'm afraid.

The key to getting Cooper that free is the incredible athleticism of Alabama's RBs. That GD Kiffin puts those guys out in space on a LB (see the 1st offensive play of the game for Alabama) and if you don't roll a safety to respect that speed, they'll beat you deep. If you roll the safety to put a lid on that match up, you now have to cover Cooper in man. Basically, you need an NFL level shut down corner to match up on Cooper all day because if you try to get cute, Kiffin will exploit that.

I thought the biggest problem the Gators had was not their defense in spite of giving up 700 yds...the Gator offense is worse than bad. Granted the Alabama defense maybe had something to do with that, but it's a long way from the offenses lead by Tebow.

I thought Florida sold out to stop the run and decided to try to make Sims beat them with the pass. Overall our run game was stopped. Sims beat them with the pass. Florida forced several turnovers and scored on the first three turnovers but Driskell just couldn't pull it off.

That was supposed to happen with Hargreaves and even though he didn't shut him down I'll bet he played him much better than anyone else on the Florida D. Trouble was he was MIA on half of Cooper's receptions it seemed.
