Florida and LSU for the College World Series Championship.

Gators had to use our Ace Sat to get here he is provably not going to be available in this series.

Gators have been to the championship two times but have never won. LSU has made six and won them all.

I would post an article have not figured out how to copy and paste on the IPadwhile my laptop is being taken care of.

    Go Gators!!!!

I think there should be a rule against 2SEC teams being in the CWS finals!

From what I hear LSU has the pitching advantage in the next two games, however we have two games to win one. The pressure is more on LSU.

Congrats to the Gators, they have now won a Nat'l Champoinship in all 3 major sports. Football, Baseball and Basketball.

I don't know how many schools are in that club but it's a small club.

Thanks guys. Unbelievable that they had runners on first and third and no outs two innings in a row and we get out with no runs.

I fell great and Terry has me wondering about how many scrolls have won all three.

    I am excited.

That was pretty exciting to watch.... basically the whole game and series.

I think that very vocal LSU football crowd mentality kept the excitement level way up there.

Proud of the Gators for the way they battled to get this one.

    Go Gators!!

    From SEC Country:

"After starting 6-6 in SEC play, Florida won six straight conference series to earn a share of the SEC regular-season title with LSU.

They faced elimination not once, not twice, but three times during the NCAA Tournament and bounced back each time to keep their season alive.

And now, they have a national championship to show for it."

Congratulations to Florida. They earned it with strong pitching and solid and timely hitting. Truly a deserving champion.

During the game they showed a graphic which named only 3 schools as having won all three major titles: Michigan, Ohio State, and UCLA. Florida is the fourth.

Congratulations Gators with your first National Championship in baseball, it was a fun series to watch and its nice to have the trophy back in the Sunshine State again...

    Couple notes:

    - Errors did it in for the Tigers and very uncharacteristic on their part
    - I hate the deliberate walk that loaded the bases and eventually busted the game open for the Gators
    - A couple of unearned runs sucked the life from the Tigers
    - The interference slide into second base with runners in scoring position hurt badly
    - And shame on some of the LSU fans walking out early with one full inning left in the game, come on its the Championship game, there's always a chance..

Always a gamble. If it leads to a DP, it was a good move. Sometimes it backfires.
Agreed. Where were they going to go? Back to their hotel rooms? Apparently, from what I've heard over the years, that's what LSU fans do in all sports. The team deserved better.

That's cool.... thanks for posting it.

Three in football and two in basketball.

11th time to Omaha was the charm for baseball.

Of course I was pulling for the Gators but my heart ached for the LSU players at the end and the emotion. I can't imagine what went thru their minds as people starting filing out early...

And I'm no Tiger fan as 1996 still haunts me as a Cane fan

That call at second base changed the game. The tying run had already scored.

The Gators rode strong pitching of two starters this season and the guy last night went further than he ever had before.

Strange season for the Gators as laid out by MCG above. In addition
    • Lost a game to Arkansas in the SEC playoffs 16-0

Lost a game to Bethune Cookman in the regional after never lost to them before and we were 31-0 against the. We came back the next day to win

Lost a game pretty badly to Wake Forest in the super regional and came back to win the next game

lost a one sided game to TCU but came back to win the next one

This team just found a way to win and us Gators are very proud of them.

RE: LSU I do wonder how Eddie O is going to do with the Tigers. I have my doubts that he's a great HC, he's an enthusiastic recruiter, and his personality is a great fit for LSU and their fans. He's one of them. But I have a feeling they will be longing for the days of yore when the Hat roamed the sidelines after 2 years.

Speaking of the Hat, I wonder if he's done coaching or will he be a name talked about at the end of the 2017 season for the various coaching vacancies that are bound to open up.

Terry, I'm surprised Miles hasn't gotten another job already, unless he's enjoying retirement.

    Bill,

My Buckeyes qualify over a long stretch, Basketball 1960 with Jerry Lucas and Company, Baseball in the late 60s and football more recently in 2002 and 2014 with Jim Tressel and Urban Meyer.
