Well it's not Billy Donavan of course, but Carolyn Peck the womens basketball coach. She was pretty hot (both looks and otherwise) after her Purdue team won the Nat'l Championship in 1999. She got a big contract and left for the WNBA where she wasn't all that successfull. When she left the WNBA to come back to college at UF I figured she'd build the Gator program into a Nat'l power as well. But apparently not. She's still pretty good looking though!
I always thought that she was a real class act...she wasn't head coach long enough at Purdue to see what kind of a recruiter she would have been but she coached those girls well.
Purdue really had a lot of talent (maybe they still do) back in those days. I don't think the B10 took Womens BBall all that seriously then. I don't think IU even tried to have a good program back then. There is however some seriously good basketball talent in Indiana...ask Pat Summit... and most of it went to Purdue or Tenn...except for Ruth Riley!
Would have thought Sid had some thoughts here since we are peripherally talking about Indiana girls basketball.
Carolyn Peck had a cup of coffee in Indiana. That's all I know. Yes, Indiana has produced its fair share of female basketball talent. ND currently has three Indiana girls among its freshmen, one of whom is Ken Barlow's daughter, Ashley Barlow. Another is a big girl from Ft. Wayne, and a third is a hometown girl from SB St. Joseph's. I will be going up there next Wednesday to see the women play Georgetown. A business acquaintance has season tickets and invites me up once or twice a year.
I expected Peck to bring the womens basketball team to better performaces, but she didn't and now she is still hot, but gone!
