Worlds Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party. I'm going to be there this year. I've only ever attended one of these games that the Gators lost so my attendance bodes well for Florida! Both teams are coming off big wins. LSU has to be shell shocked after having 50 points hung on them by both these teams two weeks in a row. This time it's for all the marbles in the East and a shot at the National Championship. It's probably pretty long odds for the NC but stranger things have happened. As if that's not enough incentive and just the fact that it's Gators vs Dawgs as incentive, there is a little extra for both teams. Georgia has been a whipping post for the Gators since Spurrier took over the helm in 1990. The Gators have won 15 out of the last 18 games but still trail in the series. Florida still remembers the Dawgs rushing the field last year after their first touchdown. And it's a good thing they didn't rush the field after all their touchdowns as they scored so many touchdowns that they would have worn out the entire teams legs running on the field that often. :? :? Lots of incentive both ways, two of the best teams in the country and two of the best young coaches in the game, what more could you ask???
I will say that Georgia didn't play with quite the same fire vs. Bama that they did yesterday but some of that is attributable to Bama slapping em around in the first quarter. One other thing I liked yesterday in BR was that the LSU offense moved the ball very well vs. that Ga. defense and in fact the game was a 38-38 tie except for the two pick 6's by Gamble. In fact....LSU had 497 yards of total offense vs. Georgia....nice. Tebow is a better Qb than the frosh Lee and Rainey-Demps complemented by Harvin will score some serious points on that little Dawgie defense. Uf's defense is hitting it's stride and will be very tough but I expect a great Georgia O to get a few points. My prediction: Florida 41 Georgia 28
Thank you Bill, and remember, Morino ended up with 34 yds rushing and Georgia scored 30 points in that game. The Alabama defense shut down Tennessee last night and we did it without our star nose tackle. It's a shame that running up the score seems to trump winning at least in the trash talking contests.
Sorry MCG, but Bama piling on Georgia 31 - 0 in the first half and a lot to do with Georgia's so called lack of intensity. One might argue that Bama had a let down in the 2nd half that allowed Georgia to make the game a respectful score. It doesn't make a lot of sense to me for Georgia to not have intensity against Alabama but to have it against LSU. Georgia is not the class of the SEC. They are good, but not the class of the SEC.
MCG I think the opposite of what you expected has happened. Instead of the Dawgs being spent emotionally and physically from a trip to LSU they are more likely more pumped and mentally/emotionally ready for the Gators as a result of playing that game in Baton Rouge.
Thanks a lot Terry!  However I don't think there is going to be any lack of motivation for the Gators either. 8)
Bill and Terry, <r>If any of the teams that have a shot at the SECCG have a problem with getting up for any SEC game then they are braindead. We have our rivalries and the NC and postseason to motivate us all. <E></E></r>
No I think that loss at home to Ole Miss focused the Gators, they know they can't lose anymore games and they know they really can't afford a bad win either. Terry
I was really impressed by Georgia in the LSU game. They might be peaking at the right time. This should be a great game. I think it will come down to how well the Georgia defense can handle Florida's skill people. PJ in Jersey
I thought Uga was overrated at the beginning of the year, and while I think they are playing better now, I still don't believe they are all that. UF will smack 'em around just like Bama did. I'm just happy everybody is beating L$U!!!
Heading down to Marco Island today via Miami. Back to Miami on Sat. am and Sat. pm will be watching Fl-Ga from one of my favorite beachside watering holes from where I have watched many a Florida victory over Georgia unfold. It's Great...To Be....A Fl..o..r...i...d...a Gator!!
We are leaving for our daughters house in Jacksonville early Fri morning so we arrive before dark to share Halloween with with two of our grandsons.
You're probably a Georgia fan if ... ... You can play the fight song using your armpit. ... Your wife's idea of cleaning house is throwing everything out into the yard. ... The Roto-Rooter man stops by your trailer and asks, "What's that smell?" ... You're in the Skoal Frequent Purchaser Program. ... You looked up your family tree, and your uncle spit on you. ... You joined Alcoholics Anonymous so you can drink and use a different name. ... You won't buy a foreign car because you're afraid you won't understand what they say on the radio. ... Your kids go to a private school, and they won't tell you where it is. ... Your Granny beats you in the tobacky spittin' contests.
A guy took his new girlfriend , from Georgia, to her first football game. They had great seats right behind their team's bench. After the game, he asked her how she liked the experience. "Oh, I really liked it," she replied, "especially the tight pants and all the big muscles, but I just couldn't understand why they were killing each other over 25 cents." Dumbfounded, her date asked, "What do you mean?" "Well, they flipped a coin, one team got it and then for the rest of the game, all they kept screaming was: 'Get the quarterback! Get the quarterback!' I'm like....Helloooooo? It's only 25 cents!!!!
How can you tell when a Georgia player has a girlfriend? There is tobacky stains on both sides of his pick up truck!
