Always liked this rivalry but understand why it had to be discontinued. But I like this game and if my old body isn't to aged by then might go. http://www.gatorcountry.com/feature/florida-gators-football-to-play-miami-in-orlando/
I'm glad they are playing...it's more to Miami's benefit than Fla's to play this game though. When does the SEC rule that says you have to play 1 out of conference Power 5 team every year in the non-conf go into effect? Also has the SEC mandated that you can no longer schedule lower division teams at all?
The Cane faithful just made a collective hiss at your comment that this game means more to us than the Gators... But its hard to argue that thought and I happen to agree with you in this era where Miami is an after thought in the big picture... But I have to say I've heard that sentiment for over 30 years, way before the SEC was atomic...The end game is key recruiting in South Florida is a pathway to championships and both teams are heading in the right direction and driven by gathering players down there. The team that wins gains a foothold...That being said Orlando is in the Gators back door and 4.5 hours away from Miami..
lol...I guess I can't expect that shipment of peaches now! You are right of course, back in the glory days the Hurricanes didn't need the Gators, they were dominant. But right now it's about getting back to that by beating them on the field and also beating them in recruiting, well throw in beating FSU on the field and in recruiting. I see by the Rivals 2017 way too early recruiting rankings that Miami is doing well with Richt at the helm.
