Terry, in another topic you asked about our QB recruiting other than Tebow and Brantley. There are two, one is on campus now and redshirting and one who is committed for this upcoming class.

Trey Burton is a 3 star recruit for the upcoming class. I suspect he may move up a bit. However here's a link to him.

    Trey Burton

And Jordon Reed who has been on campus since Jan as an early entry. He is also a 3 star and there is some talk of him converting to a tight end.

    Jordon Reed

While both these guys are three stars, they were also recruited pretty early by Meyer and I have to believe they will fit in our system quite well.

I've never heard of either one of those guys, so they must have been recruited specifically to fit the system. I assume that they are more physical than the average QB and are good runners.

When Brantley has played does the play calling change from what Tebow does? I would think it does, I don't think any qB I've seen in awhile could run as many dive type plays as Tebow does. He's more like a FB. Even Vince Young wouldn't have run as many dive plays, he was big and strong but built much differently than Tebow and probably wouldn't have held up running the same plays as Tebow.

Terry, the offense is different with Brantley in the game. He has a strong arm and a quick release, his running is just enough to keep the other team honest. I look for him to put up very good passing numbers and for our running backs to get more yardage.

However I agree on Tebow and would love to keep him about ten more years. :)

Both Reed and Burton are 6 ft 3 in and about 220 pounds.

    3 stars can play Bill...

I think Jerrod Johnson was a two star guy when the Aggies recruited him... so you know what I think of the "rating" system!

I agree that stars mean little but you have to anticipate losing Tebow in THAT offense is going to cause the Gators to lose at least a couple of games next year. How many times in his career did Tebow get first downs through his powerful running on 3rd and 4th and short? He is the best I have ever seen at it and that includes RBs and FBs. Not having that will hurt the Gators. Add to that the fact that they have never been able to establish a power running game except for with Tebow and you have problems. Yes, I know, the Gators have RBs but those guys are smallish scatback types who benefit from gaping holes because of the defense having to key on Tebow's ability to tuck and run.

I agree Aquila, watching Tebow against a very good OU defense last year convinced me that he's the best short yardage backs in the last 10 years of college football. Marcus Allen at QB.
