Not huge news for anyone on this board, but still a bit of a surprise.
Haven't heard anything about this until now.

Will TCU take down his statue?

    And in a related event

UTSA announced a long-term extension for coach Jeff Traylor on Sunday, signing him to a $28 million deal that runs through 2031.

Traylor has been thought to be a top candidate for the job. He's a former very successful HS coach in Texas. Deep and long ties to HS coaches all over the state

Reports are that he was asked to step down, announce his retirement take the gold watch, etc... and finish the season.

He told them to shove it, or something like that.

Wow... 22 years, and "oh crap we might miss out on a guy who might be the next one!"
Seems like a sorry way for the TCU brass to handle that deal...

He was hated by Texas fans. There was a general feeling that he was a big-time negative recruiter against the Longhorns. Of course, it didn't help that he was 7-3 against the Longhorns including 4-1 at Austin in the last 10 years.

He was known for his defense, and his long association with Scott's favorite A&M coach..Dennis Franchione. He was Franchione's DCoord at TCU when he left for Alabama and TCU named him their Head Coach.

I wonder if Nick will add him to his coach rehab program at Alabama as an analyst next year?
