Very overcast here now... rain a possibility tonight. Tomorrow looks good. Thursday looks bad. Blood pressure rising..... hard to sit still.
With Randy Johnson pitching tonight the Yanks will probably score a lot of runs. He was 5-0 against the BOSOX last year. PJ in Jersey
amazing situations...Alex Gonzo goes Upper deck. Arod key error.. Loretta finally waking up his bat.. Manny also....Randy showing his age. Melke in spite of critical error will be in right field for years to come for NY. Stadium emptied out in 7th inning amongst chorus of boooos...very unlike Fenway. Round 2 weather permitting tonite.
I don't want to see the replay of Matsui breaking his wrist any more. Very sorry to see a guy like him go down.
Steiny will probably go after Tori Hunter, I am hearing. Dont know what he has for bait other then that pitcher in double AA.
Steinbrenner should stand pat. Sheffield should be back soon and Crosby is fine. We don't need Tori Hunter.
I'm seeing a lot of bitching about Jeter not getting an error on Loretta's grounder to short that he flubbed, allowing 2 runs to score. Somebody even suggested that offical scorers just don't give out as many errors as they used to give out. Terry
I dunno. Jeter had to make a diving stop deep in the hole, then throw from one knee. Cairo made a good stab at the ball, but it came out when he tagged Loretta. If they make the play it becomes a web gem, but if they don't it's an E?
Great stop. Decent throw from awkward position. The ball was caught by Cario with a nice leap on the high throw but in time for a tag. The tag knocked the ball lose. E-4. Error - Cairo on the tag. Tough error but it was an out until he dropped the ball. If Cairo doesn't make the tag in time, it's an infield hit. But he dropped the ball.
I guess I can understand giving Cairo an error if that's how it was scored. I don't agree with the idea that Jeter should get an error, though.
