Intriguing game.... UF can play some defense as we all know. Most times the Gators can run the football too..... ask Georgia. This combo worked just fine the last trip UF made to Tallahassee in FSU's last loss ( they have won 26 in a row since ) which was 37-26 Gators. The line is only FSU minus 10.... but strangely I would be leaning toward taking unranked Florida and the points. IF... a big IF Florida could end that winning streak on Saturday it would present quite a conundrum for the Gator Nation. A UF coach has a winning record ( just for you Corey it easily could have been 8-4 )..... beats the three top rivals Tenn, #8 Ga and #3 FSU and still get's fired? I was on the Fire Will Muschamp band wagon myself ( and still am ) but really.... a finish of beating FSU on the road combined with accomplishing the above makes it seem pretty weird....
FSU is stumbling and bumbling to the end, I wouldn't be shocked if it all came unglued vs UF and certainly expect them to be beaten handily in the playoffs. All the controversy and the pressure of. A streak will come crashing down around them.
If there is a god, the Gators will beat these heathens and take that smug look off the face of Jimbo the Hand Puppet. They are one shitty call from being old news.
Let's hope so George. One thing I would think that would stick in the minds of the older FSU players is the physical nature of the whipping UF gave them two years ago. Damn near broke EJ Manuel in half on one hit and Matt Jones ran through their defense like a runaway freight train especially in the 4th quarter.
FSU seems to have same kind of luck that Auburn had last year. Hopefully Florida can muster the kind of game they had against UGA for this one.
Given the vileness of the opponent I suspect never on this board has Florida had so many pulling for it to win a game. Hopefully the Gators won't let everyone down.
Go Gators! <iframe width="640" height="390" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/Oo9buo9Mtos" frameborder="0"></iframe>
Gators are 7-3 in the last 10 games: 1-3 in the last 4 games. 34-22-2 since 1958 Spurrie 5-8-1 vs Bobby
Spurrier may have been on the short end of 5-8-1 ( which actually was pretty good vs. the noles in BB's heyday ).... but Bowden tasted two of his most bitter defeats against Spurrier's Gators.... the 1997 Sugar Bowl beatdown for the national title and then that same year in the '97 season defeating the top ranked Semi-holes again. I wonder how many times a No. 1 ranked team has been beaten twice in the same calendar year by the same team?
You boys will like this analysis of the game: http://cfn.scout.com/2/1485240.html "What’s Going To Happen: Here’s the difference. Florida State has been able to get away with playing poorly because, eventually, the talent comes through in the second half. Louisville, Boston College, and even Miami, to some extent, can’t quite match the skill of FSU, but the Canes were able to matchup with the speed and athleticism, and so were Clemson and Notre Dame – and that’s why games against the Irish, Tigers, and Hurricanes were so close in the final moments. Florida doesn’t have the passing game, but it has the defense and athleticism to not crumble in the second half. Prediction: Florida 27 … Florida State 26 " Oh... these guys are good.... 8)
Hey, my 20 confidence points went to the Gators. Where I am at in the standings it really doesn't matter though. Go Gators.
