There's a little something here for most of the Skyboxers teams.

Texas is #1, Gators #2, Ohio State is #5, Tenn is #9, ND is #11 (our best preseason ranking in years). Skyboxers Teams making the top 25 include BDR's AZ WildCats, Huskerfans Cornhuskers, Bobda's Woleverines, TB's Dawgs, AJNJ's Nits, Gonzo's Hurricanes. So it should be a good season for us all next year.

:?: I question Texas being #1 with a freshman QB. #5 for the Buckeyes with losing most of our defensive unit is more than fair.

Wonder what things will look like at year end?

Don, I'm with you on both counts....I just don't see us being a legitimate NC threat after losing 9 of 11 on defense and some key leadership on the O-line. That's where it begins and ends in my book. Likewise, it's difficult for me to see TX with a first year starter at QB being in the NC game as well.....no doubt they'll both be talented, but a NC is a stretch. I'd love to be wrong, but I don't think so.....

Look again at the top ten

<t>I don't think this is well thought out:<br/>
Florida plays Tennesse, Auburn and LSU<br/>
LSU plays Tennessee, Florida and Auburn<br/>
    Auburn plays Florida and LSU<br/>
    Tennesse plays Florida and LSU<br/>
    <br/>
Now with a round robin like that do you really think that these 4 teams will all be in the top 10. I haven't worked out all of the possibilities but if UF is going to be #2 then Tennessee, Auburn and LSU will all have to have 1 loss. If LSU is to finish 4th (with one loss) then Auburn must have 2 losses. What are the chances of finishing #6 with two losses. How about Tennessee at #9 with 2 losses?</t>

"Florida plays Tennesse, Auburn and LSU".....

.....and the annual opponents FSU and Ga plus that team from the SEC West that we could barely get off the couch for...Alabama.

At this time last year, I think the Irish were ranked 54th and Penn State was behind us...

A LOT will happen before next season ends and there are always surprises. Our goal is to not get surprised...

    KP,

That's exactly right. I think one reason Spurrier was so successful with Fla in the SEC is that he dominated teams as best he could and tried his damndest not to get in nail biting ref-decided games. As most of you like to wryly say if the game wasn't so close, if the team that thinks it should have won would have just beat the tar out of the other guy then the refs wouldn't matter. (think Alabama 31-3 over Fla for a recent example)
You gotta love Spurrier for thinking that way also.

With regard to UF 's schedule then I think road games at Auburn, and UT will be hard to dominate and the refs especially at Auburn could be a factor in a close game as they were most definitely in Spurrier's losing trip there in '93.

At REFSU is another story in and of itself with regards to the likelihood of a serious screwing by the refs. This year's game marks the first time since the infamous 2003 game in which the ACC provided the refs for the game and which still goes down as the worst refereed game in the history of Florida football. There is no way that Bobby will allow UF to be 2-0 at his own namesake stadium so I fully expect a hosing like you have never seen in this year's sure to be fiasco in Tallahassee.

Therefore KP, rather than shy away from the bait that you laid out for me I have taken it like a Tiger Shark.
Frankly, it doesn't taste very good either.

    No bait

<t>I guess I just envy you. Every win is a triumph of superior talent and perserverence and every loss is because the refs were against you. It would be foolish to try to bait someone with that attitude.</t>

Thanks for giving me an excuse for that asswhipping in Tuscaloosa last fall KP.

"every loss is because the refs were against you. It would be foolish to try to bait someone with that attitude."

Wow, I never realized it was the refs all along that led to that 31-3 score.

Always glad to be of service!

<t>Hopefully, Alabama will continue to provide you with excuseable losses for the foreseeable future.</t>
