You're going to have to find another whipping boy come next baseball season. I nominate our Jim O'Connor. Yes, the lovable curmudgeon JO'Co. http://espn.go.com/mlb/hotstove12/story/_/id/8605165/los-angeles-dodgers-spending-new-york-yankees Get him Jiffer!
re: Monster franchise Yes...I like the sound of that... I also like the way they think the Dodgers are somehow salary capped in the range of $190-200 million. Guess what? The largest television market on planet earth is right here in SoCal and it's a multi-lingual market; with broadcast rights which can be exported as far south as Argentina and as far west as China and Japan. The Dodgers are about to collect on a multi-billion dollar broadcast deal which will pay for any players they choose to sign for years and years to come. The new owners are only beginning to tap into all the sources of broadcast revenue that previous owners overlooked. The real value of the team was never in the parking lots or selling souvenirs, it was in the TV, radio and internet broadcast rights of the world's most popular baseball team. Today Los Angeles...tomorrow the world... ..Evil Steinbrenner JO'Co
And here's a picture of the avg LA couple that can't wait to get their season tickets... But worse than that...here's a couple of others waiting...
