For Big 10 Junkies

    As I understand it, the Big 10 will announce the formation of its own TV network that will show Big 10 sporting events year-around.

    Wow that's a big enterprise. There certainly is a trend to more minor sports getting exposure. There is CSTV and ESPNU that show all sorts of minor sports and womens sports.

    The digital revolution has created a situation where there are now hundreds and later, thousands of channels. Advertising can be individually targeted at homeowners or neighborhoods, so the future is now for teams, leagues and sports to create their own niche networks. You can see this in many areas, especially the demise of the great newspapers and Big Three TV networks in favor of internet blogs and specialized news channels. Soon the whole country will be this way...IMHO.
