Big game for both teams. The Gators need to win to stay in the National Championship hunt, LSU needs to win to stay in the hunt in the West. A LSU loss would give them 2 losses and since one of those losses was to Auburn and gives them the tie breaker for the West over LSU. So it's a giantic game for both teams. I'll leave about 11 am to drive to Gainesville with the wife, son-in-law and one of our grandchildren. BIG GAME!
Gator Bill, Should be a great contest. I am going back and forth on which team to pick for the contest. Good Luck. Don
I think the home team advantage is very big here and that the Gators will win....very close but they will win.
I went with the Win/Win situation here. I picked Florida. If they win, I get the points. If LSU wins, Florida is one loss away from opening the back door for us to the SEC CG. Of course, if UGA beats us, that just doesn't matter. :?
I went with LSU also. Business is business. But I'm rooting for Florida. That should count for something, right? Well, maybe not much.
Gators prevail! Urban Meyer has done a masterful job using Chris Leak and Tim Tebow. Go Gators!!! Gator Bill
Congratz to all Gators on a great win! I thought LSU was better than that, but I was suspicious of them since that horrible game with lowly Auburn last week. Wow! Did they self-destruct or what? LSU fans have to be wondering about that coach by now. The trend seems downhill since he took over... BTW- I love all the clever things that Urban does with his QBs... ............JO'Co
Nice win by Florida on this one. The really good teams are beginning to sort themselves out now. I really do like that frosh QB, Tebow. Don
Thanks guys, I don't know what to make of the LSU coach, but actually I don't spend a lot of time thinking about him, I have enough to do worrying about the Gators! 8) 8) The Gators love our freshman QB also, and we also love the way Meyer has decided to use him and Leak. It's innovative, productive and keeps them both happy. Some of the media are still trying to make out that we have a QB controversy, but in fact we do not. Auburn next week at Auburn, they should be angry so we had better really be ready. And by the way I see that Notre Dame and Ohio State just keep rolling along, congratulations guys.
Thanks Larry, we Gators are very happy about our future prospects. And I also want to add that Chris Leak has been very special at Florida and continues to be.
Bill, I actually don't think you guys will have any trouble with either Auburn or Georgia unless you come out flat. I have thought since I watched Auburn vs So. Carolina that they were a very flawed team, and I really don't think Georgia has it this year either. I still don't think UF has a great offense, but it is a good enough offense given how good I think your defense is playing. Terry
HMMMMMM. <t>I have a feeling Auburn will be load at home this week now that their snoozer week is over. Florida is in for a tough weekend but I'll take the Gators by a field goal.</t>
Larry, I'll take a tie and winning in OT! Or a 1 point win, or any win! Terry, I sincerely hope you are right. Thanks.
My voice is still hoarse from being at the game so I guess I'll just type this...er...oh... Anyway....one of the more enjoyable games for me in the Swamp ever. I put it right there with Tenn in '91, '97 and '99 and just ahead of Tenn last year. Mixed in there is the Ga win in Jax in '98.....very satisfying that one.
Gator fans, I have to add my congrats as well. Forgive the tardiness. They just got me down out of the trees celebrating the impressive offense we now have. Please don't take this the wrong way. but I think Tennessee has repeated a past mistake. In Jamal Lewis' first year at Tennessee, we did not play him much until after the Florida game. The report was that he didn't know the blocking schemes well enough until then. I think we have done the same thing this year with Coker. He may have made the difference we needed against you guys. Oh well... maybe next year.
I understand your feeling Tom, but I think next year we will also have Tebow full time. But I'm not ready to look forward to next year, I'm thinking about next week.
Hey Bill, I'm thinking to next week too. I'll bet you $3,000 that Tennessee doesn't lose this week.
