Hopson's shot was a 2 pointer, but that's all they needed. Great finish.

That explains the difference. Sportsline listed it as a 3 pointer but only put 2 up on the scoreboard.

Nice win for the Vols and a tough loss for the Gators.

Like I said in another topic I was offline and couldn't comment. Fortunately we did have our electric service back and I was able to watch a good game that could have gone either way.

    Congratulations to the Vols.

I saw where the night before the game Donovan joined Pearl for a cancer benefit in Knoxville. Class move by a class guy.

Bill how are UF fans handling the way UF basketball has been since the last Nat'l Championship? Not that you guys have been bad, but it has been down compared to the back to back NC's.

Terry, the people on the insiders basketball forum on GatorCountry are so negative I can't hardly stand to read that forum. They think the world has ended.

I think overall in the Gator Nation things are fine, but we have a collection of negative people in that one forum.

The football forum is tough after a loss, the Basketball forum kind of stays that way.

    To bad.

Hey Texas is having a good season.

Bill, it's the same at ND and probably the same elsewhere.

Yeah there wasn't much love for Rick Barnes after the Baylor loss, and Mike Brey is extremely unpopular with online fans. Although the most knowledgeable of them concede that he's doing about as well as can be expected given the situation he has to deal competitively in the Big East. Mainly that he has the hardest academic situation, even Georgetown and Villanova give their coaches more leeway with regards to academics than Brey gets and that he has had amongst the worst facilities in the Big East until the current renovation of the Joyce Center. Still has a high school practice facility though. Biggest coaching issue is his consistently short bench he mostly goes with 7 or 8 guys off the bench and his starters are worn out at the end of games and lose a lot of games at the end. Also he's never had a very good defensive team.

But every body likes him on a personal level and he's been an outstanding representative of the University.

Sid, you are right that a lot of internet people on forums are negative. But I think our one basketball program has taken it to a new level. I spend time on the other forums and they aren't like the basketball forum.

They took it to a whole other level.

Terry, re: our depth issue. I watched the ND-Villanova game. We hung with them in the first half, but they wore us down in the 2nd half and ran away from us. Nova has a very deep, very good team.

Than what happens? We hand Rutgers its first Big East win. Aaaaaaargh!

(Sorry, Tom. Got carried away. Didn't intend to hijack your topic.)

Sid is it a depth issue or is it just Mike Brey? He's always played a short bench, but of course maybe it's because we aren't very deep talent wise.

Good point. Could be the coach or the talent relative to the elite BE teams.
