The guys who run the Fla Blog, EDSBS have an open letter to Gator AD Foley about getting the Irish on the schedule. It's a little irreverant to say the least...but hey it's comming from a Gator so it's ok. However I don't think the Irish would do it as a 1 time event and I doubt the Gators would come to South Bend. But still a funny letter, I wonder if he sent Foley a copy?

Do you Gators read EDSBS on any kind of regular basis?

Playing ND would be great but instead of making such a move Foley has opted for 7 home games and a fatter wallet for the athletic Dept.

Problem is without a home and home arrangement teams like ND aren't coming in for a onetime shot vs. UF and who could blame them.
It sucks but that's the budget pinch that UF seems to be in with FSU as an annual home and home and Ga. always in Jax.

UF's sched will look like a murderers row compared to what is in store for the Aggies in the near future.
We've just allowed cancellation of two more contracts.
Gone are Air Force, and Michigan St.
Everyone assumes Miami will soon follow.

I will be subjected to the Citadel's, and U of Lousianna Lafayette's of the world for the rest of time. Guess Fran has to show "improvement" some how.

    Ugh...

Man, that sucks. You don't get many style points for a W over The Citadel.

No, but you might become Bowl Eligible and save your job.

Bowl Eligibility and the BCS it still count it as a win. A "W" is a "W" today regardless of caliber of opponent. There were several teams last year that would NOT have gone to bowls if Div II wins weren't allowed. And it boosts the Strength of Conference Ratings.

    Jack,

You are right of course, but it makes me ill to think about it. What makes it worse is how many of my fellow Aggies are defending the "KSU Scheduling" strategy. They feel it will get us a "better" bowl.

Yeah... like the Cotton bowl against Tennessee??
Bad teams get WHACKED when they get a better bowl than they deserve.... Ugh again.
