The gator players must be smokin somethin.... again!  http://www.gatorsports.com/2017/10/underdog-gators-feeling-confident-vs-bulldogs/
Yeah I don't think you want to go out and play football like you have the last couple of weeks...unless he's from an alternate reality where the Gators won the last couple of games.
My thoughts exactly unless we want a close down to the wire frustrating loss in which both defense and offense suffered game losing mishaps in the 4th quarter. We had better play a lot different if we're going to win one for the Gipper.... er..... Malloy. LOL
I see this game as a almost insurmountable mountain for the Gators. However we should show up and see what happens.
After what happened to FSU last night it's easy to see when the wheels are coming off a team. This could be that game for UF..... or the coaching staff could surprise me with great innovations and strategy. Sadly... I don't believe this current group of coaches especially on offense is capable of such performance. Georgia..... big.
The way I see things Georgia is going to be ranked number 2 and Alabama number 1. They should meet in the SEC Championship game and both teams have a great shot at being in the playoff. This is one good looking Georgia team, and they are doing it with a true freshman at QB. It was strictly no contest. The Gators did score late and maintain our big streak of not being shut out. Small constellation.
and quite the drama with McElwain's situation. I don't think the threat statement should get him fired. :?
The threat situation and misspeak wouldn't do it alone but obviously some influential people really hate the way we can't seem to find a QB or fire a miserable OC all the while getting our asses handed to us by anyone near the top ten.
Oh yes, I agree. Firing him for losing? Absolutely. Firing him for the death threat to avoid the buyout. Not cool.
And I saw a list where the Will Grier mishandling is also a factor because of McElwain's arrogance with the situation. That kid never would have gotten away from Saban or Meyer. I mean... what's a little reassurance amongst friends?
Beautiful day here in Houston, I was listening to XM Sports with Rick Neweasel and another guy, maybe Andy Staples. They were talking about McElwain and feel like this is the most bizzare situation that they have seen in awhile. Wining record, 2 SEC East titles, etc. They speculated that the Fla AD's 1st call will be to Bob Stoops and the 2nd call will be to Dan Mullen. They also mentioned Rich Rodriguez and Justin Fuente and Matt Campbell. Said Willie Taggert would be a great fit as he'd done an excellent job at Oregon this year and has such deep ties to the State of Fla for recruiting. But as of now he's not been fired and they say the Gators are trying to figure out how to fire him for cause over the death threats and/or get him to voluntarily lower the buyout. Which I can't think of a reason why he would do that unless his lawyers didn't want to chance a court case over the buyout if they fired him for cause and tried to pay him nothing. What is the pulse of the Gator Nation, do they want him out at this point?
As long as Florida keeps firing coaches, they'll stay mediocre. I stay out of their business and let them handle it how they see fit.
Just got home earlier this evening after being gone since Oct 6. Lucky me, we got tickets to three games this year, LSU, lost 17-6, Texas A & M we lost 19-17 and Georgia where we lost 42 - 7. The good news is we went on a great cruise between the last two game. I haven't much to add. I have been a big defender of Mac and had high hopes for him. Things really took a bizarre turn this week and there is apparently much more to the story than the death threat story but that did add fuel to the fire. I have no idea of the complete story but if you read the AD statement it was kind of blunt. Mac never addressed the team again but the AD said that is still open. I am not going to defend the way it went down but as I said I think there is a lot of behind the scene stuff that we will never know. I also believe the number one target is Scott Frost.
It certainly is the talk of the college football world. Lots of people think that what Bill said about there being other things going on is true. On XM Sports they mentioned that McElwain complained after the bowl loss last year that the University needed to step up and make a commitment to the program at a time when they were considering a contract extension and that some have thought that he handled the whole Shark thing really badly. If Foley were still the AD I'd bet that, like Urban Meyer, they would have Scott Frost (if that's who they desire) pretty much signed up and Frost of course is not going to admit to any contact and say he's 100% focused on finishing a great season for UCF which is what he should do that's for sure.
