Typical Democrat: Filthy Filner Wants Taxpayers To Pay For His Legal Fees Related To Sexual Harassment Lawsuit…
    [IMG]
    Chutzpah.

    Via NBC San Diego:

San Diego Mayor Bob Filner has asked the city to cover his legal fees for a sexual harassment lawsuit, according to an agenda released by the city council.

The city council will convene in a special closed session on Tuesday night to discuss whether or not to pay for legal fees in a sexual harassment claim filed by Filner’s former employee Irene McCormack Jackson.

Jackson publicly came forward last week and alleged that Filner told her to “work without panties” and detailed other alleged acts of sexual harassment. Jackson called her experience working for the mayor “the worst time of my entire working life.”

Prominent San Diego attorney Gloria Allred is representing Jackson, and filed the lawsuit last week. Read the complaint here

Filner has been accused of sexually harassing multiple women — a total of seven women have publicly come forward claiming he acted inappropriately toward them.

The mayor has since apologized for “offending” women, and will enter intensive therapy for two weeks to “begin the process of addressing [his] behavior.”

San Diego Sues Its Own Mayor
    [IMG]
Too bad Mayor Filner’s legal fees are the only “large” thing about him.

    Via Politico:

San Diego Mayor Bob Filner is facing yet another lawsuit, this time from his own city.

San Diego is suing its mayor for the costs incurred as a result of the sexual harassment lawsuit filed against him by his former communications director Irene McCormack Jackson, according to the Los Angeles Times. The San Diego City Council decided unanimously to file the lawsuit during a closed-door session Tuesday.

McCormack Jackson sued Filner for sexual harassment last week, becoming the first of seven women to come forward publicly to accuse Filner of harassment. Following the allegations and a chorus of calls for his resignation, Filner announced Friday that he would be taking two weeks to undergo intensive therapy starting Aug. 5. However, he has said that he will not resign.

Filthy Filner No Longer Allowed To Meet In Private With Women
    [IMG]
So because Filner has no conscience and refuses to resign, the city and his staff are enforcing a rule that he isn’t allowed to meet with women alone to protect the city from legal ramificiations. Imagine how ridiculous that is, that you have to be constantly on the watch for your mayor sexually harassing women. Unbelievable.

    Via Breitbart:

Melissa Harris-Perry, who filled in last night for Rachel Maddow on some MSNBC show I don’t usually watch, asked Filner’s new chief of staff if it was discriminatory to bar women from having private meetings with Mayor Filner. Eight women have come forward with detailed claims of harassment by the Mayor so far and a lawsuit against San Diego and the Mayor have been filed.

    Wait, WHAT?!?

Filner’s COS Lee Burdick, a woman (not sure how that will work out…) responded:

the rule is a way to protect “both the mayor and the citizens of San Diego” and to insure that city business is “being done with the highest level of integrity.”
Burdick said she and the mayor developed the policy as a “reasonable and prudent business practice in light of the allegations being leveled against him.”

Does Harris-Perry think women ought to meet alone with Filner after these allegations have come out from highly credible, powerful San Diego women? Does she really think it’s discriminatory for the city attorney to try and protect women (and the Mayor, tbh) from possible continued harassment or harassment claims, not to mention future liability claims?

I think she would be screaming very loudly if the city did not protect San Diego women from possible harassment and I suspect she would be pointing a finger if something were to happen and the city failed to protect the residents and employees, knowing these allegations are floating around.

Number of Filthy Filner Victims Hits 11, Sexually Harassed Woman Seeking Help For Wounded Iraq War Vet…
    [IMG]
    What a scumbag.

    Via NRO:

San Diego mayor Bob Filner now has an eleventh accuser — a woman who alleges he sexually harassed her when she went to ask him to aid a Marine who’d endured a brain injury and post-traumatic-stress disorder during her service in Iraq.

CBS 8 reports that Michelle Tyler, a licensed vocational nurse, accused Filner of harassing her in the mayor’s office on June 11, about a month before the mayor’s former communications director filed a lawsuit accusing the mayor of harassment and making his behavior public.

Attorney Gloria Allred, who is representing Filner’s original accuser too, explained that the nurse had originally gone to Filner when he was a congressman seeking help for for Katherine Ragazzino, the Marine, who was ensnared in some Veterans Administration red tape.

Allred said that when Tyler returned along with Ragazzino in mid June to ask the now-mayor for help, the mayor appeared willing to help “but at a price.”

“In other words, Mayor Filner wanted Ms. Tyler to help him fulfill his sexual needs if she wanted his help for a deserving war veteran,” Allred said.

Filthy Filner’s 14th Victim “He Put Me In A Sleeper Hold”
I would like to point out, this is NOT sexual harassment. This is most definitely sexual assault. When you put someone in a sleeper hold and grope them, it’s assault. Plain and simple.

    Via SanDiego6:

A city employee is now the 14th woman to come forward and allege that she was harassed by Mayor Bob Filner.

The woman only known as Stacy, told her story to KOGO 600 early Thursday morning. Stacy told the station she was at a community event, when her two staffers, both female uniformed law enforcement officers, told her the mayor had arrived. Stacy says she walked up to the mayor to introduce herself. At the time, the mayor was talking to a student reporter from a local high school. After the interview, Stacy said the mayor thanked her for her service and then asked her out.

“Let me ask you something, can you ever go out to lunch with you boss,” Stacy recalled.

After asking her for a business card, Stacy claims he grabbed forcefully her by the wrist and clarified he was not asking her out on a business lunch.

Stacy said he told her, “I’m not asking you out on a business lunch, I’m asking you out on a date. When I see a beautiful woman, I always have to go over and talk to her.”

Barely Reported, But Filthy Filner Also Faces FBI Corruption Probe

How Progressssive! When he was in the House, Filner was one of the founders of the Progressive Caucus along with ”Don’t Call Him My Colleague” Nancy Pelosi.

    Via Daily Caller:

San Diego Mayor Bob Filner’s endurance in the face of mounting sexual harassment accusations may be driven by his need to get out of an even bigger problem: a federal criminal investigation that has received little attention from the national media.

The San Diego Creeper is the subject of an FBI probe of what looks like a quid-pro-quo arrangement with a local developer. In June local media obtained a voicemail Tom Story of Sunroad Centrum Partners left for various city council members regarding a $100,000 “gift” he made to two public projects Filner favored.

At the time, Sunroad was looking to use public land for a project in Kearney Mesa. Story’s strikingly direct voicemail indicates Filner agreed to give Sunroad the easement in exchange for the donation.

“I’d like the council member to know that we have reached an agreement with the mayor’s office,” Story’s message said. “We have paid him the money that was requested and was told that the mayor would support the override.”

At Least Three Women Reported Filthy Filner’s Misbehavior To The Democratic Party, Officials Did Nothing…
    [IMG]
    War on women update.

    Via The Atlantic:

The Democratic Party of San Diego needs better lawyers. Or rather, it should have used the lawyers it has.

In 2011, at least three women warned the head of the San Diego County Democratic Party of stories in the community about then-Rep. Bob Filner making inappropriate advances toward professional women with whom he’d come in contact through his political position.

Former California State Assemblywoman Lori Saldaña, San Diego County Democratic Central Committee member Martha Sullivan, and Escondido City Council member Olga Diaz all brought uncomfortable incidents to the attention of Jess Durfee, who was until the end of 2012 Democratic Party chairman for San Diego, the eighth-largest city in America. [...]

“I began hearing these consistent stories of inappropriate behavior, where he would segue from, say, a site visit to their school and follow them back into area away from other people on the visit, and start to proposition them and get physical with them and ask them out on dates or even grab them in public, in front of other people,” Saldaña said. “As I had these conversations over a period of several days and heard these consistent stories about his behavior, I started connecting the dots and went to the county party chairman and said, ‘I think we have a problem here’.”

She brought six women’s stories to Durfee in the summer of 2011, she said, though she did not have any direct experience of inappropriate conduct herself.

We’re all wondering, ‘Why didn’t the chairman listen to our concerns?

“We’re all wondering, ‘Why didn’t the chairman listen to our concerns?’” Saldaña said. “His defense now is that he spoke to Filner privately and Filner assured him no one had filed a formal complaint …. I mean, he wasn’t harassing people in his office the way he’s accused of now. He was harassing constituents, or professional women who basically needed to maintain a working relationship with him. So of course they weren’t going to file a formal complaint against a seated congressman.”

Wow: Filthy Filner Sexually Harassed a Great-Grandmother – Update: Asked Her If She “Could Go 8 Hours In One Night”…
    [IMG]
Dude is a serious friggen scumbag.

SAN DIEGO – A great-grandmother will hold a news conference with attorney Gloria Allred early Thursday afternoon, alleging she is a sexual harassment victim of Mayor Bob Filner.

A news release stated the senior citizen was the “victim of continuous inappropriate sexual advances by the Mayor while trying to do her job at City Hall.”

The release said both Filner and the great-grandmother would address the media at 1:00 p.m. at the Westin in downtown San Diego.

The release also said Allred was the woman’s attorney, but it was not yet clear on if the woman would be filing a lawsuit against Filner. If so, that would be the second sexual harassment lawsuit against the mayor.

Filthy Filner Ends Resignation Speech With Quote From Fellow Dem Sexual Predator Ted Kennedy…
    [IMG]
Kind of fitting if you think about it.

Text of Filner’s speech via Voice of San Diego:

I would say thank you for allowing me to be here, but obviously this is not a happy time for any of us. Not for the city of San Diego. Not for those who represent. For my own part in causing all this, I offer a deep apology. Certainly to all the citizens of San Diego and through you, to the citizens that you represent.

The city should not have been put through this. And my own personal failures were responsible. And I apologize to the city. I have a lot of supporters out there. I apologize, I apologize to all of you. I think I let you down. We had a chance to do a progressive vision in this city for the first time in 50 years. As I’ll say later, we need you to carry that vision forward. This is not the time to let it die. I apologize to all of you. [...]

In the final analysis, of course, politics is not about any of us as individuals. It should not be about me, but ideas that move us forward. Whoever will be the next mayor, my hope is that these ideas that have resonated with our San Diego communities are continued and respected.

I was at Madison Square Garden when Ted Kennedy said, in 1980 as he conceded to President Carter in the nomination for the Democratic president: “The work goes on. The cause endures. The hope still lives. And the dream shall never die.” Thank you.
