Seems like a long time waiting for this game between Texas and Ohio State to arrive.

Longhorns are favored by 8 points and Colt McCoy has been very impressive with his pinpoint passing numbers.

Big game for Terrelle Pryor and many are comparing him with Vince Young.

Both teams have good solid defenses.

I just hope we can stay in the game and have a chance to win in the 4th quarter.

Tressel needs to open things up a bit, but I doubt he will take too many chances. If Beanie has a good night, anything is possible.

I am very worried about the Longhorn run defense vs Wells and Pryor.

I know you have a veteran defense with a lot of experience, but I don't know what it's strengths are, are you a great pass rushing team, run stoppers, terrific dbs/pass defense?

Everybody says B12 defenses suck, so how will our offense fare against an excellent defense like your's. I don't know.

I was going to start this topic if no one else had.

I'm looking forward to this game tonight. I only have a couple of minutes this morning but will be tuned in tonight.

I have mixed emotions about this game and am very interested to see how Ohio State matches up with Texas.

I think Texas wins but hope it will be close and interesting game.

    Later.

    Terry,

Our pass rush is not what I would like it to be. I do not see us getting to McCoy too often.

Malcom Jenkins is an excellent All American at Corner and will be in the mix if Texas wants to test him.

Lauranitus at middle linebacker has a number of picks this year.

    Should be an interesting game.

This is a game that will tell us a lot about both teams and conferences.

The wheels appear to be coming off the wagon for the Big12 South, and I think the Big10 has looked better than their final scores would indicate (eg Northwestern and MSU).. I guess we'll see where they are at with this one.

I see this game as a tale of two teams....the OSU version that got blasted by USC and then waded through the mediocre Big Ten and which gives me no cause to pick them over Texas....or the Buckeye squad led by a determined coach and a pretty good defense that together must be frothing at the mouth to redeem not only themselves but their conference as well.

Motivation as the sole factor for OSU has failed miserably twice in a row....vs. LSU and vs. USC.

I am going against that trend in this one.

I think they are just good enough that extreme motivation for them vs. what still has to be a letdown for Texas will carry the Buckeyes to a win in this one.

Pryor's extra month of practice....Wells' extra month of complete healing and this motivation will be enough...just enough to put Ohio State on top:

    Ohio State 28 Texas 24

Aern't all bowl teams limited to the amount of practices they can have?

What I mean AJ is that these guys needed all that time between games to be as good as they can be.

I know Texas has had that time as well but in this case the most benefit goes to OSU in my opinion.

Both teams have something to play for and nothing to play for in this game. Texas was denied the chance to play for the Nat'l Champinship and winning this game is unlikely to change that so maybe they have nothing to play for but pride. But then again it is Ohio State and this team returns a lot of players for next year and expects to contend for the Nat'l title plus quite a few of the players were on the squad that lost 24-7 in Austin, Colt McCoy was the starting QB. So maybe they do have something to play for .....

Ohio State winning this game doesn't do much for their Nat'l ranking they'll be in the top 10 but they won't leap up to the top 5 with a win or they won't be given a pass for their losses in the previous BCS games, so maybe they won't have much motivation to play. But then again those losses are bound to stick in their craws, esp the Sr's, and they are probably pretty motivated to not go out with a 3rd straight loss.

It should be a good game in other words, respected opponents who have played each other recently and teams that have a lot of tradition and pride that don't want to end the season with a loss no matter that the only thing they'll get is a Fiesta Bowl trophy.

OK as the offical representative of Mack Brown on the skybox I have been granted the power to confer honorary Longhorn status on all that request it.

Please reply to this thread before kickoff.

I am picking Texas to win this one...easily.

Damn it, why couldn't Ohio State lost another game and went to the Outback Bowl instead vs South Carolina. We would've won then.

It's a great offer Terry, but my Ohio roots run a little deep to come out against them.

Except if it benefits the Gators of course.

I can't believe Pryor ran out of bounds in front of the marker. Instead of 1st and 10 he left them 3rd and 2... Robiskie can't hold onto the fade route and they punt... hmmm

Interesting strategy...is it Boekman or is it Pryor? We'll have to see if OSU sticks with this.

BTW on that opening UT series I can't believe that 2nd and 1 at that spot on the field they didn't run the ball.
