Playoffs start this weekend. Funny how this has evolved. When it first started I thought it was a stupid idea. But it's grown into a really good thing for the tour.

Since it's over 4 tournaments you never really know who is going to win, the natural pick would be Dustin or Brooks. But who knows. I doubt it's Tiger though.

Kind of fun watching Bryson Dechambeau win last week, he's such a geeky golfer with the physics and math stuff. But while all of that is good, there are a lot of players better than him right now who don't know math or physics, but they do know how to play the game of golf.

Tiger got off to a great start today, posted a -8 for the day, but Rory has found his game, he's at -9 and has 4 holes to go including a par 5.

Well the field is set. Welcome back Keegan Bradley who won the BMW today in a playoff. He's been MIA for awhile now, although he has such an annoying style of play I haven't missed him.

    On to East Lake.

Only 5 guys can win the Fedex Cup by winning the Tour Championship.

DeChambeau, Dustin, Justin, Finau, and Rose. I see that they are thinking about changing the rules and having the season long points leader get an advantage over the field. I read they thought they'd start him off at -10 before he steps on the 1st tee, that just seems wrong to me. But they don't like the system as it is now because it allows for the Tour Championship winner not to be the FedEx Cup winner like last year.

Well usually the guy who wins the FedEx Cup get all the publicity even if he doesn't win the Tour Championship.

Quick who won the FedEx Cup this year, of course it was Justin Rose, but all I read about is Tiger winning the Tour Championship. That scene of him coming up 18 was like nothing I've ever seen in golf. Pretty amazing comeback by Tiger. Even Rory McElroy was chatting him up coming down the fairway.

If it was truly the old Tiger though he'd have made that birdie putt to close it out in style ....but a win is a win and he deserves the praise for fighting his way back through all the surgeries , the private life issues, etc.

Of little note Phil finished dead last, I hope that doesn't mean he's out of gas now and will be a liability for the Cup. Also DeChambeau had bad tourney as well, again hope he didn't peak a few weeks ago when he won back to back.

I was already concerned about the pick of Phil for the Ryder Cup.
