Well tomorrow I'll leave my classroom at about 11:30 and head about 350 miles south to Valdosta Georgia to meet my longtime partner for our annual Fantasy baseball draft. Last year we drafted number one and drafted Pujols. He was the rock of our team that won first place. It's a National League only league and we drafted first. This year we draft number 4, Pujols will go at number 1. We think we are looking at possibilities of Braun, Wright, Utley and Fielder as our pick. We have done this league since 1993. This year we have 12 teams, the max, and will have people drafting from as far away as Australia and China.
How did you get involved with this geographically challenged group? ... or are the China and Australia contestants just there temporarily?
Actually Tom I got involved just before I retired and with people where I worked. That was in 1993. The guy who ran the league had some contacts from around the country who were part of the league. The two people overseas are there with full time jobs but have moved there within the last couple of years and still belong to the league.
Far be it from me to chastise someone for managing their fantasy team from overseas. :wink: I will be in Ireland two more times in the next two months. Leaving this Saturday and will be flying back on 1-May. Flying out to Phoenix on 2-May. Returning to Austin on 7-May. Flying back to Ireland on 8-May. Returning to Austin on 29-May. I hope to be able to manage my NASCAR team during that period.
