Evidently a big cheating scandal has hit the fan. ...shocking I tell you shocking...I'm bumfuzzled. F$U Scandal
Interesting that nobody picked FSU in the bowl contest....did we know something?? I wonder if when you bet a team like FSU in a Vegas sports book and something like this happens do they let you out of the bet?
The more I read about this I have come to understand that this isn't something that they just found out about this week. It seems to me that they have known about it for a long time and are just now comming clean. The whole canard that they were "investigating" smells to high heaven. It just happened to take the whole football season to sort this thing out. I have a hard time believing that they knew more this week than they knew back at the beginning of the season. They just didn't want to face the season minus 20 players. More bumfuzzlement? :? :? :?
The article you linked in the beginning of the thread lays out the following timeline... Florida State president T.K. Wetherell ordered an investigation by the university's Office of Audit Services in May after receiving information an athletics department tutor had directed one athlete to take an online quiz for another athlete and then provided the answers. Wetherell, a former Seminoles football player, reported the initial findings in a letter to the NCAA in September. The school revealed that as many as 23 student-athletes were given answers before taking exams over the Internet. At least two Seminole football players already have been penalized for their involvement. Defensive end Kevin McNeil missed the season and wide receiver Joslin Shaw missed the first four games.
To be fair, I can see where it took several months to complete an exhaustive investigation. If I were in charge, I would not want to make it public until I was certain we had identified all of the participants and their respective roles. I realize that FSU is an easy target on this board, but I would not rush to judgement regarding the so-called lack of integrity in the process.
We are talking Free Shoes U. , coached by St. Bobbah of the "well it's not like he shot the president" and the "Warsaw Rule"....
LOL! Granted, they put themselves in this position over the years, but my nephew and niece graduated from there, and my niece currently is working in the SID, so I have a familial obligation to defend the integrity of the institution. What's the Warsaw Rule?
