Banners are up...restaurants and sports bars advertising their wares...readerboards all have GO PATS neatly displayed..the frenzy has begun in New England! Just curious if anyone ouside of the northeast cares. Personally, If Pats were not in the Big Game..I probably wouldnt watch. For most people its an excuse to PARTY :!:

I don't care who wins, but I'll be watching the game. It's a two-pronged (game and commercials) mid-winter tradition in most households regardless of the teams involved. Of course if your favorite NFL team is playing, as were the Colts last year, the interest certainly intensifies and you care who wins. Who is your pick, Jif?

....and to acknowledge that they cheated in the process.

Sorry Jiffy....you're my man, but your boys cheated, were caught cheating and admitted that they cheated. Case closed, imho.

Bellicheat should be out on his a$$ watching two deserving teams play for the title from the comfort of his home.

Jiffy, Jiffy, Jiffy.....if you believe that that game was the ONLY time that he/they pulled that trick, I've got some damn fine real estate to sell you....there is no question in my mind that he/they have notebooks FULL of useful information that has been acquired by way of - shall we say - extra-ordinary means.....just one man's opinion.

I always watch the Super Bowl. Obviously the people in the NE have more interest in the game, but still it's always the biggest TV sporting event of the year ...I'm pretty sure!

I like the Mannings so I'll be pulling for the Giants, but if the Pats win that's OK with me as well. Giants have Justin Tuck, a Notre Dame man so that's another reason for me to root for them.

How long till pitchers and catchers.

I have reluctantly become somewhat of a Pats fan this year largely because I had either Randy Moss or Brady on every fantasy team I had. I didn't win any championships but it was a great reg. season. Anyway, I am really looking forward to watching history be made in the Super Bowl and because of that I'm pulling for the Pats I guess. However, everyone loves a good underdog story (just ask the 2001 Pats) and I won't be that disappointed if the Giants pull it out. On another note, I don't think we can make any judgements about the Patriots and the spygate garbage. They have won every game they played this season and I think every NFL team probably has some stuff they acquired via extraordinary means. It's the information age man, that kinda stuff is going to happen. I think it's unfortunate that someone would acquire a defense's signals but that's life. If you can't beat 'em perhaps the rest of the league should join 'em and quit whining about it.

I've always wondered why the NFL has maintained that the teams can't have live video on the sidelines and they make the teams use those photo's that they print out. I watch the guys going through the flipbooks of the formations they've captured and wonder why not just watch the video. It's not like the NFL can't afford it.

I don't buy it Aquila.....there are many advantages that technology provides us in this day and age....we still have rules to govern their application. You can't break rules with impunity just because....

hell, its also the biotechnology age, chemical performance enhancers are available and are also going to happen, so we ignore those that benefit by breaking the rules at the expense of those that follow the rules? I don't think so.....

Buckeye T, your point is well taken and I understand what you mean. I do think it's unfortunate that actual defensive signals were taped and the price was paid. You can't put an asterisk by the other eighteen games because of one game. They killed virtually every team they played with a few notable exceptions (one being the Giants interestingly enough). Do you not think teams they play on a regular basis changed their signals when they found this out? If they didn't, they're stupid and deserve to be taken advantage of.

Brady is QUESTIONABLE for game. High ankle sprain. Pats have been working with Dante Stallworth and welker in QB slot

Stallworth and Welker????? You guys do have backup QB's you know!!

Wasn't it the Colts who had to go with Tom Matte, a RB , in the playoffs one year? I forget what year and why they didn't have a backup though, I guess the backup was injured as well.

I would guess the wagering has slowed to a crawl until this plays out. Without Brady this game would be a Pick 'em at best.
